  1. as said many times before: check this thread out.
  2. And why bother OC'ing 2x6950? You should have enough power with those at stock speeds. Doesn't matter if you get 100 fps or 125 fps. You won't notice the difference anyways.
  3. I'm running my Sapphire's Dirt3 6950 with same clocks as you. Aka maxed from CCC. I think it's stable. My temps are always under 70C. Tho the card have pretty good cooling too. I've played few hours of BF3 without problems. Also I moved the power slider to +20%. Planning to get another card by the end of this month for XFire.
  4. Yeah, internal PLL overvolt is disabled. Latest stable settings are vcore 1.315v, PLL 1.75v. Changed overclocker to manual from XMP. Other settings are the same. 50 run LinX was stable. Overnight prime blend test also stable. Temps in LinX were max 75C and in prime 71C. It seems that if i want to lower vcore then I have to up PLL to get stable. BIOS settings: AI Overclock Tuner = Manual By All Cores = 45 Internal PLL Overvoltage = Disabled LLC = Ultra High VRM Frequency = 350 Phase Control change to = Extreme Duty Control change to = T. Probe CPU Spread Spectrum = Disabled C states are all enabled vCore 1.315v CPU PLL 1.75v VCCIO 1.000v VCCSA 0.925v DIMM 1.500v PCH 1.05v (default) Maybe set PLL to 1.8v or 1.85v and try lower vcore to 1.310 Also good question if I got good air flow. I don't know. CPU cooler takes air from the front and pushes it out from the back. I got one 12cm fan in front and in back. Also got one 14cm and one 12cm fan on top pulling air out.
  5. From sig it seems to be Silverstone Raven 2
  6. From what? How? Useless posts aren't any help
  7. I'm just trying to tweak my current OC as much as I can. If I want to reach 4.5ghz then i'd have to increase vcore another 0.050v for start. That makes about 1.330-1.340v to get it stable. At that speed I'd probably get 75C or a bit more with LinX. Tried 4.5ghz too. vcore 1.312v-1.336v (1.320v in BIOS) other voltages are the same as for 4.4ghz. Temps in 50 run LinX is 72-78C. 65-69C in Prime95. Is it safe? I'm still curious about VCCSA, VCCIO, PLL and PCH voltages. Try to lower them more? Increase something?
  8. Latest stable: CPU Core 1.264v - 1.288v (1.275v in BIOS) CPU PLL 1.500v VCCIO 1.000v VCCSA 0.900v DIMM 1.500v PCH 1.05v (default) Tried to test with lower vcore but got 101 BSOD. I might even get PLL lower but is it wise to do so? How about other voltages? With these settings I pass Linx 50 times test.
  9. Got stable with 4.4. Any other tweaks to do? Another run on 1.270v gave me bsod so upped vcore to 1.275v and stable again.
  10. I lowered my overclock to 4.3ghz. Ran prime95 during the night and was stable. Did linx in the morning and had to add 0.010v to get stable. Right now my idle vcore is 1.288v and under load it's about 1.240v. Internal PLL overvoltage=auto LLC=high VRM freq=auto Phase control=standard Duty control=t. prob vcore manual= 1.280 other voltages are on auto
  11. They aren't upped. I basically froze the default settings. Also what's the difference between PLL auto and enabled? I've been googling and found that PLL needs to be enabled to unlock higher multipliers? I'm not sure. Lots of people talk different story. Also when idle the vcore is 1.344v and sometimes jumps to 1.352v. When I run prime95 then vcore jumps between 1.336-1.344v. Lower voltage under load than idle?
  12. BIOS settings: AI Overclock Tuner = XMP By All Cores = 45 Internal PLL Overvoltage = Disabled LLC = Ultra High VRM Frequency = 350 Phase Control change to = Extreme Duty Control change to = T. Is it safe? I'm still curious about VCCSA, VCCIO, PLL and PCH voltages. Try to lower them more? Increase something? Any use getting PLL even lower?
  13. I read a guide in HERE The guide states that: **A note about PLL Overvoltage. It has come to my attention that since writing this guide, the behaviour of the "auto" setting for PLL Overvoltage has changed, previously auto = disabled, but it appears that Asus have made it so that the auto setting will enable PLL Overvoltage at around 4400MHz~4500MHz onwards, so for this reason, please make sure that for all parts of this guide, this setting is manually set to Disabled. You leave the setting to Auto. So which one to use? Auto or Disabled? What's the difference actually Also vcore settings "manual" vs "offset" tested in THIS post.
  14. Hi, my specs are in my signature. The problem is that almost every time when I shut down the computer for the night or so, then when I turn it on again the cpu led lights up during self test, the BIOS logo doesn't show up, after few seconds the pc restarts and then on the second try it boots without a problem. I've tried about four different versions of BIOS' and the problem is still there. My overclock should be stable - I've run torture tests over the night and the voltages and temps are fine. Any ideas? Thanks!
