Hmm, be more specific, is it during gameplay? Have you got a wireless mouse? Possible defrag may help or updating video drivers if it is during gameplay.

Yep thanx.

Yeah i understand what HT does but what im asking is, does the physical temp change or is it just a software bug? I know games run faster without HT but surely it couldnt add 10 degrees
-
See sys specs, whenever i turn off hyper threading my temps shoot up 10 degrees. With HT enabled i idle at 34.5 - 35 and whenever i disable the HT the temps at idle are a constant 45C. This happened on me the other day too and i forgot i messed with the HT and took off my heatsink and cleaned the ceramique (which i hate) and put AS5 on. Also lapped my heatsink, all that crap hardwork for nothin that i find out its the HT!! Ok im starting to lose it, but is this normal? I mean i know with HT on windows thinks there are 2 cpu's but there is still only physically 1. Is this a software issue or is it normal? Im using winbond hardware monitor, i dunno any other monitoring progs or i would run a few tests. Help!!

I Finished My Homemade Cooling
George Costanza replied to RadioActivated's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Im thinking of doing something similar. Getting a bigass tube, put some filters on it and hang the tube out the window so it sucks in the fresh cold air and hook it up to my cpu fan. I dunno if anyone's tried it but it's bound to help a little. Maybe this is what you're talking about i dunno, but this way i doubt you'd have to worry about condensation. Just a thought B) -
Abit Ic7 -max3 Motherboard Heatsink Problem?
George Costanza replied to mjr002's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
I've got the Max 2 and a Skythe Kamakaze, which is a very high performing heatsink, fits like a glove too -
Trying To Remove My Heatsink
George Costanza replied to George Costanza's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
I did it again!! Tried to remove my heatsink and this time i thought it came off easily, a little too easy! Guess what? Yep, CPU stuck to the bottom of the heatsink again!! Spent 3 crap hours lapping that thing and only got a 1 degree drop in temp, if even 1 degree!! Got it down to a near perfect mirror finish too! Question: How come when i was lapping my heatsink, i got to the 1500 grit and it was fine and went to the 2000 grit and it messed it all up again? 1500 was as high as i could go to get it mirror like, was i doing something wrong? -
"cpu Heat Sink Bigger Than My Fist"
George Costanza replied to clay31's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Yep it's a skythe, id recommend the kamakaze but i've read really poor things about that passive cooler. I'd be surprised it fits in a case, the crap thing's a monster. I've heard great things about the Aerocool Deep Impact passive cooler though, as it's able to hold 2 fans too. May be my next hsf -
Trying To Remove My Heatsink
George Costanza replied to George Costanza's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Thats weird, i've never had problems using AS5, it's just pure grease. I can see why ceramique sticks though, that stuff is like paint. Well i tried to get my heatsink off again to lap it, but there was no chance, it was stuck on there again even when i tried heating it with a hairdryer. Im not gonna chance my luck again, but my temps are down to 33C now, so it did drop 4 degrees -

Trying To Remove My Heatsink
George Costanza replied to George Costanza's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Thanx for the info, i've looked at the cpu and the pins look fine, they're all accounted for and none are bent. The clip on the mobo still works so thats good also, i guess ive just got to lap my heatsink now and see if it runs. -

Trying To Remove My Heatsink
George Costanza replied to George Costanza's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Yeah i pulled it and the cpu came out while it was still locked. The chip looks fine and i've cleaned it but i dont think it's gonna work. I think there must have been air trapped between the hsf and cpu to make it stick like that. Has anyone ever seen a cpu work again after this kind of thing? -
Trying To Remove My Heatsink
George Costanza replied to George Costanza's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
Yeah i took all the clamps off, in fact i pulled the heatsink and the cpu came out too, would it be damaged from this? I literally had to slide the cpu off the heatsink to remove it, im a little worried it wont work again
