  1. those are special numbers lol. cant even make my ram work at normal specs =(
  2. thanks... theres alot of stuff underneath each version. just wasnt sure if there was a specific version for amd or quad core... anyway thanks thanks thanks
  3. hello everyone! i just wanted to know which version of memtest was the right choice for my processor and other hardware if that matters. and also if i should use memtest86 or memtest86+. the plus makes it better right? lol
  4. what if i forget the whole OC'in the RAM and OC the processor just enough to make up for it? is that possible... i have a post under the processor, memory threads and they are sayin my cpu cant hang with 4 sticks(8GB) @ 1066 no matter what. just a wild question. i dont wanna try and flash bios cause if i screw up its not worth it. and im 25 so finding a mem stick in my house is like finding a needle in a hay stack lol =)
  5. ok waco since im 2 scared to flash my bios do you think the 965 phenom II could handle 4 sticks (8GB) @ 1066MHz
  6. well lets not count them out yet! someone just told my i have to update my bios and they should work... since im not really overclocking them and i need to update bios they should work. they are 1066MHz according to the kingston guy that didnt wanna send me new ram or give me money back lol. ill see if the bios thing works and if not we will form a clan and burn kingston down (prob. not). anyway ill keep you posted. after all i dont see how the update will help
  7. scary potato scary but ima go buy a stick and try it anyway... is it the same concept with a usb stick
  8. never boots man and damn it who ever said i didnt do it right cause i went to kingstons site and looked up the timings, voltage and it still doesnt work. kingston says 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1 volts tried/failed then took advise to try these... 5-5-5-15 @ 2.0/2.1 = fail 6-6-6-18 @ 2.0/2.1 = fail 7-7-7-20 @ 2.0/2.1 = fail even tried diff. volts with all those settings from 1.8 to 2.5 volts and NO GOOD!
  9. is it neccisary to update bios... if so what size drive should i buy
  10. ok i keep forgeting that lol but still why cant i make it work at the specs on the package
  11. i understand what your saying and ive tried setting them with no success. ive even talked to someone via PM that is a member of these forums and we still cant get it. it just doesnt make sense that even if the memory was @ 800 that it would come up 400 on a test. seems kinda wrong
  12. ok well alil something something lol! cpu-z reports that my kingston pc-8500 1066MHz is only working at pc-6400 400MHz . anyway this is probably the reason i could never get it to work at 1066. just wondering if its kingston and i should get something else or what...
  13. ok can you tell me exactly how to update the bios man cause one of my friends said if you screw it up your computer is done for with no way to fix it. is that true or is he a numb nuts?
  14. ok so i aam still trying to get my Hyperx to 1066MHz. ive tried these timings already with no success; 7-7-7-20 @ 1.8,2.0 and 2.1 volts 6-6-6-18 @ 1.8,2.0 and 2.1 volts 5-5-5-15 @ 1.8,2.0 and 2.1 volts any other suggestions for timings? please post them. also if changing the timings for the memory doesnt work couldnt i change the fsb? if so how do i know when its right?
