  1. No, I don't really NEED it. But I am not worried about getting a little more than I actually need. This board doesn't even support the integrated graphics as far as I can tell and it is actually cheaper than it's P67 brother. Since I will have discrete cards I could give a -hoot- about the integrated graphics, I don't do much encoding anyway, my primary purpose is gaming. I also believe, after reading reviews, that the board does very well with overclocking. The appearance of the board is important to me as well, that GIGABYTE matte black is great and will go well with my other components. I suppose I am asking if I will be happy with this board if I buy it Thanks again IVIYTH0S, you always seem to help me out on this forum,
  2. GIGABYTE GA-Z68x-UD4-B3 Going for 189.99 plus 7.87 shipping on the egg but I can get it for 169.99 shipped brand new. I am looking for a MOBO for my new i5 2500k system. Will be putting a couple 570's in SLI. I plan on doing some overclocking. Also, will my hyper 212+ cooler fit? I have 2x4GB GSKILL ripjaws x series RAM I've been bouncing around these forums a bit and this is probably my third post since I began this build so sorry for any redundancy, just trying to get a good product for my hard earned money.
  3. I've been planning a build for some time now but I still haven't been able to finalize it. This rig will primarily be used for gaming. I will be overclocking, but nothing too extreme. Already own: Coolermaster HAF 932 WIndows 7 Pro 64-bit Ordering parts: CPU: 2600k GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 570 sli PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold series 1000w RAM: G Skill Ripjaws X 2x4 GB 1600 HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB SSD: None for now. Pricey for my budget. Possibly the vertex 3 120gb if it hits under 220 Cooler: Hyper 212+ *MOBO* Socket 1155 Considering many options. First of all I cannot decide if I want p67 or z68 Not sure the new features really will make a difference for my purposes Price range for motherboard cannot exceed $250 Been looking at mainly ASUS and the recently released p67 EVGA boards. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188082 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188073 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131730 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131701 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131707 Open to any and all criticisms of entire build. Thanks
  4. I am very open to the socket 1155 build. The i7 2600k is only about 30 dollars more than the i7 960... and based on my research, runs cooler and is OC'd easily. So no big deal here, seems like a good upgrade. The EVGA X58 Classified3 MOBO is priced at $380. I wouldn't mind saving some money here with a socket 1155 mobo. Which would you recommend? (The p67 series best board is around 250 I believe?) Remember, I will be running a single EVGA gtx580 for now, may add another card at a later date. Thanks again for your help. Signing off for now. Looking forward to your reply tomorrow.
  5. 1.) It's EVGA, I love their software and interface. 2.) SLI (future) 3.) Plenty of connectivity 4.) Looks . awesome 5.) I can't find something I like better... Perhaps I am being a bit stubborn... I suppose something from the P67 series (that supports socket 1155) would work fine but even the best card in that series isn't as awesome as the X58 Classified3.
  6. I would prefer 1366 because I am in love with the EVGA X58 Classified3 motherboard. (A friend recently built a new rig with it) If you can find an equally awesome mobo for socket 1155 that will let me throw the SB i72600k processor in there over the socket 1366 with an i7-960 that would help a lot...
  7. Think I am better off getting a larger SSD and just a Seagate 1TB over the VR450? for the help
  8. Thanks for the feedback. I was sold on the EVGA Classified3 MOBO too Any other suggestions that could somehow include that mobo? I know it only supports Socket 1366
  9. I am leaning toward a single EVGA GTX 580 for now I think I will go with CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600. The 70 dollar price difference for the G.SKILL doesn't justify an upgrade IMO I can order from newegg, tigerdirect, anywhere really.
  10. 11. I was wondering what sort of performance I could expect with my current PC Specs. I currently have one GeForce 8500GT which isn't cutting it. Computer is about 2 years old running Vista. Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz processor 4GB DDR2 SDRAM 667.0 MHz Intel G33 Express 1066.0 MHz 20 Inch 1600x1050 HP w2007 Monitor Expansion Slots 4.0 ( 0.0 ) x PCI Express x16 - DIMM 240-pin , 1.0 ( 0.0 ) x PCI - LGA775 Socket , 1.0 ( 2.0 ) x Processor , 5.0 Memory Is it better to run dual GeForce 9800 GT's for around 240 bucks or a single card around the same price? Wondering what sort of upgrade is attainable on a budget. I probably won't be making this purchase for a couple months. Any sort of help/criticism is welcome. Thanks.
