  1. I made a build thread a while ago but was still searching around for different parts then and was not sure about how much I was going to spend. I'm somewhat certain of the parts I have now , let me know what you guys think. [CASE] Antec Twelve Hundred 1200 [CASE FANS] 3 x Fractal Design Silent Series 120MM [PSU] Antec Truepower New 750W Blue LED [MOTHERBOARD] Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H 890GX [CPU] AMD Phenom II X6 1055T [CPU COOLER] Coolit Systems Eco [HEATSINK FANS] 2 x Noctua NF-P12-1300 [RAM] Mushkin Enhanced Blackline PC3-12800 [GPU] Powercolor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 [HDD] Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB [DVD DRIVE] Samsung SH-S243D/BEBE 24X
  2. I could downgrade to the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO and save the $100 but to me it doesn't look half as good and doesn't really match the whole Black/Red theme I was going for The performance gain from a 5850 to a 5870 is not worth it to me as I will be overclocking it like mad An SSD for just the OS is a great idea, I'll think about it. The CM Hyper 212+ should do just fine with 2 fans for a push/pull set-up along with some AC MX-3
  3. I was told and read on many sites that the Samsung Spinpoint F3 was the fastest around. No mechanical drives on the market currently saturate past sata2 so sata 3 is pointless until i decide to upgrade again to a really fast SSD drive. That 64mb cache is catching my eye though NCIX doesn't have the Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer, the CM Hyper 212 was the best I could find for such a low price, it would work better If I add another 120mm fan for a push/pull setup but I need a adapter/splitter thing so I can run the 2 fans from my motherboard. Can anyone look on NCIX to see if they can find me one, one like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812718001. Also, I've never had issues with Sony drives, they have all performed great. I never had any issues with the LG drives I've had either, so we'll see Thanks for the suggestion, I'll make sure to do that first next time
  4. Would like some advice on the parts I have picked out. I would like suggestions on the price/performance of the parts as well as how good it will look with everything in the case [CASE] Lancool PC-K62R1 [MOTHERBOARD] ASUS Crosshair IV Formula [POWER SUPPLY] Antec Truepower New 650W [PROCESSOR] AMD Phenom II X6 1055T [MEMORY] Mushkin Enhanced Redline Frostbyte 4GB 2X2GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 CL6-8-6-24 [GRAPHICS CARD] Powercolor PCS+ Radeon HD 5850 [FAN CONTROLLER] Scythe Kaze Master Ace 5.25IN [HEATSINK] Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus [HARD DRIVE] Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 32MB Cache [DVD DRIVE] Sony DRU870S 24X DVD+/-RW [CASE FANS] Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM, Fractal Design Silent Series 120MM [HEATSINK FANS] Noctua NF-P12-1300 120MM
  5. Here's the AD for that AMAZING 5970 Black Edition, freakin EPIC (Part 1) (Part 2)
  6. Which would be the best cooler for around $50, http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=423...rctic%20Cooling http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=413...re=COOLERMASTER http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=293...CZ%20Technology http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=477...ufacture=Scythe http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=300...acture=Xigmatek
  7. For anyone who cares, my Ati+ Nvidia Sticky is now updated. For my fellow overclockers who tries it, please leave me feedback to tell me if all the steps are working fine!
  8. Was playing some Bioshock 2, switched to my shotgun, ended up being a upside down rivet gun that still shot slugs. EPIC
  9. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run a full scan, see if it picks up anything.
  10. HAF 922. Great airflow, great cable management and dust filters are definitly a plus. Liquid cooling ports in the back to run the tubing and room on top to mount a tripple rad . Comes with BIG fans!!! . It will give you a chance to mod it as you will want to paint it black. Red led's are freakin shweet
  11. What are your current idle and load temps? I would think you could get a bit higher with that cooler, I would try for 3.6Ghz with 1.45V. Raise the NB Frequency to 2200Mhz and give the CPU-NB VID a slight bump of +.025.
  12. Raise the CPU Core Voltage to 1.525V to see if Prime 95 runs stable. For the NB Frequency, you should have it around 2400-2600Mhz for 3.8Ghz. I have mine at 2600Mhz All I needed to raise to stabilize the NB Frequency was the CPU-NB VID. For 2400Mhz - 1.25V, 2600Mhz - 1.3V. My default CPU-NB VID is 1.175V so +.075 would be 1.25V and +.125 would be 1.3V.
  13. Have you tried setting everything to default in Rivatuner as well as in ATI CCC and un-ticking Enable ATI Overdrive? Try using MSI AfterBurner to overclock and GPUTool to test for stability, it will tell you if it detects any artifacts. Try for a smaller overclock like 935/1085 and see how it works out
