  1. Currently, I have a system that can handle Starcraft 2 just fine on everything on ultra. Its a dual core 3.16ghz stock clocked on Vista 64bit with a GTX 260 900MB 1066 DDR2 4GB RAM But like with all games that I am anxious for, I tend to build a new computer, so I will be waiting till July 15th to actually build a system from newegg.... but prepare in July 1st to do all my research. This computer has lasted me close to 2 years just fine but I have been waiting a year for the core i7's to drop and I want the 3.2ghz to drop from 579$ to at least 300$, even 400$ would do. I might keep my GTX 260 because I don't think its a bottle neck. So question, when do you guys think Core i7's 3.2ghz will drop in price? And second, should I be waiting for something incredible? I hope in july that usb 3.0 and 6.0GB/s motherbaords will be out and support, but is there anything else except for the Intel 6x Core i9's that will cost 1k USD which I have no interest in over doing my system. I just want a system that will last me for a good 3 years or so. I mean you think Windows 7 will increase my performance? I stay away from overclocking because I like to resell my computers so I can get at least 300-400$ back, or at least whatever I can.
  2. Sorry, I ment to compare this one: ntel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Model BX80601930. Does the reason you provided for being better still stand with this corrected processor with the LGA 1366 socket?
  3. I mean, the only thing I see is the operating frequency. The ntel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Model BX80601930 is 294$ on Newegg while the ntel Core i7-960 Bloomfield 3.2GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Model BX80601960 is $589.00. Why? It is only .4 more ghz. Is it that much of a difference to charge 210$ more for? Another question about the "core". You have bloomfield and Lynnfield. What are the differences and which is better and why? OR could you point me to a website that has these answers?/ REason for edit: Had the wrong socket core i7 in there for comparison

Currently I mainly just play World of Warcraft but I still get like 30 FPS for example in high density areas such as DALARAN or Wintergrasp fortress..(Window mode 1920/1200 reso) I have a good cooling rig so I want to experiment with OC'ing. What is a general safe and normal overclock temperature that should be followed for CPU and GPU? What effects result from OC. If the voltage and temp. is good, will there be any negative side effects such as damage to the hardware. Now for a specific question. For my CPU - I followed this guide to overclock and I don't know what voltages to set for the core/FSB. Could you please enlighten me? I wondering the settings for 3.6GHZ and 4.33GHZ. Also, do i need to reset the memory settings? I have it set to 2.1 v at 5.5.5.15 and 1033mhz Thanks for the help.
