Is my e-350 too hot?

17 February 2012 - 02:00 AM

I'm running an e-350 in my HTPC, but i can't tell whatever it's too hot or not.

My case is an Antec ISK 310-150 with a 80mm side fan with a 3-speed fan controller.
The motherboard is a GA-E350N-USB3 from Gigabyte with a very small and maybe a bit noisy CPU-fan running at 4000RPM.

I tried to disconnect the CPU-fan and keep the side fan at the lowest speed, but i get temps at around 70c in EasyTune and 90c in CoreTemp. Then i disconnected the side fan, but kept the CPU-fan running and got only around 5c less.

In either case i think the temps get a bit high, but i can't decide whatever it is too high or not?
So i thought, maybe some of you have similar system and want to share their colling setup?

thanks a lot.

Simple HTPC

26 January 2012 - 01:12 PM

Hello everybody.
Unfortunately i have not followed the hardware news for some time now, so i'm pretty lost at choosing the right parts, maybe some of you guys can help me?

Well first of all budget is around 350-400usd, which ain't a alot, but my requirements are pretty low too.

I want my system to play very big high bitrate 1080p movies(25GB) in a smooth solid quality, and then i want a 1TB 3,5" harddrive and support for atleast one more.
I don't care about blu-ray drives nor very nice audio quality, cause i'm only playing in stereo anyway. Support for a sound card upgrade later will though be appreciated much

I need only 1 HDMI port and 1 gigabit ethernet too

If needed i'll build the system myself, but a cheap prebuild system is okay too.

Like everybody else i appreciate a silent system, but again my budget is tight so i might have to compromise.

Thanks a lot for the help

MSI gtx 560 ti twin frozr OC crashes

02 September 2011 - 10:12 AM

hello everyone, i just upgraded my rig yeasterday with new RAM, GPU, Case and a new screen too.
The problem is that the GPU crashes for a reason i can't think off.
Sometimes just a few minutes after i turned on my computer, sometimes when i'm surfing the web and the gpu is almost idle and sometimes when i have been gameing for more than an hour.
What happens if the screen just starts to flicker and show alot of colored squares "i'll upload a pic"

BTW i'm running dual monitor, the driver is 280.26(but i tried with an older one too, and my PSU is a 750W energon i know it's crap but the power output should be enough considering my old card radeon 4890 uses more power?
I also tried to increase the voltage slightly, it might have helped a little but it still crashes

BTW thanks alot for helping

Windows Xp installation doesn't work

13 March 2010 - 12:25 PM

Okay i'll try to explain in my best english.
My operation system is windows 7 professionel 64 bit.
I decided to dual boot with windows xp for several reasons, so i found 3 of my xp diskes and made a partion for XP.
The installation went fine, but at the boot of the harddrive after the installation i receive the following error message. "A disk read error press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to restart"
Well the same error shows up after restart.
This look's like a disk error but it is not a disk error, let me explain why.
first reason: I scanned my disk several times with tons of tools.
Secound reason: When i put in my windows 7 installation disk and use the "repair startup" function. Then my computer boots up windows 7 again like nothing ever happend.
Then i tried using the last two xp cd's and they gave me exactly the same error.
Well after trying like 6 cds i found out that this error happens at all xp cd's.
My guess is that this is a conflict between the xp sata driver and my Motherboard.
I would really love some help fellas :D

My specs:
Intel core I7 920 2.66 ghz
Ati radeon 4890 "XFX"
Gigabyte GA-EX58 UD4p
6gb kingston RAM
640gb Samsung harddrive.

Thanks :D

New Scythe Muashi cooler

01 January 2010 - 07:04 AM

Well i just bought my Scythe Muashi VGA cooler for my radeon 4890. I'm still waiting for the package to come:
But I read at scythe-eu.com that it's recommended to use the original Heatsink to cool the VR/MosFET.
So my question is what is the VR/MosFET.

And then i saw that you have to but some heatsink at the memory on your card. How can i tell were the memory is?

Thansk for the help
