  1. Lowest priced one I hear is marked at $380 and there is 7 to chose from.
  2. For people with GTX 260 cards and what not are there any cool software programs? I do light gaming, but with lack of broadband internet I really don't get to enjoy the games I have because Im restricted to offline games only. I'm wondering if there are any aps that would be good to use for designing animation or anything along those lines? I am looking for something new ot learn and would like any suggetions.
  3. okay cool, just pm where to send it and I will get it out to you. I can't promise non-doa.. I can promise it worked when i pulled it from my old bosses work PC when he wanted a 3ghz chip to replace this one, but its been in a static bag for about a year
  4. Ahh I guess it makes sense now as to why whenever I benchmarked my dead 260 in sandra it also fell 5-15% slower than the same gtx 260 they had on there for comparison.. I really liked the 260 I had, sucks the fan died and the thing burnt up. I ran that card at stock, never even thought to oc it at all, after reading the reviews about the 260 matrix and its higher clock speeds Im really excited to get one. Hopefully cookeman and I can work it out for the one he has. The funny thing is, the card actually went out while I was playing mike tysons punchout nes-rom, the screen turned into a kaleidoscope and got jittered then my ACEr log for my monitor came on and that was that. I looked at the cards fan after trying a few reboots and noticed the fan wasnt spinning. When I took the card out the fan would turn but under alot of friction... so i assume the fan died.
  5. I have a Pentium 4 2.6ghz/512/800 chip sitting here. SL6WH china I know it's not worth anything but if someone needs this for any purpose I'll be willing to ship it off. I could use a HDMI/DVI adapter or cheapo wireless G usb stick if anyone wants this ... old stuff but sometimes i know people can put these old parts to use for a kids pc or grandmas pogo rig. I also have a stick of pc2700 512mb I could ship with it, I'll never use the stuff. If nobody has an adapter to swap just post here if you want it and include the reason why you need it and I'll send it to the person with the best sounding reason or the first person to post if no one else bothers....
  6. You don't get the results like in reviews because you don't have an I7 975 OC'ed at like 4ghz. You will usually never get the results you see in a review. Yeah that's what I'm saying, I dont have the i7 @ 4ghz so really having a card like a gtx 275 isn't really worth it unless I got it for $200 new with lifetime warranty.. If I buy a used card I hope t save $50 or so, I would have gotten another 260 from best buy but they were not in stock, I almost bought the 9800GTX+ for $109 but I had a 250 gts before I got the 260.. returned it when I saw the 260 on sale... the 260 performed much better than the 250 noticeabley.. it just seemed smoother?
  7. Hmm I guess it seems illogical because the processor isn't a great match for the card (gtx 275). In benchmarks Ive alway benched less than reference probably due to the fact my core system is not as fast as whats idealy reccomended. I think the 260 runs more than fine on my machine but my cpu usage stays at 100% during gaming which might suggest I could get even more bang for my buck from a video card if my cpu/mobo/ram were faster. The 260 gtx is an amazing card, I played nba 2k9, prototype, sims 3, cod4, crysis, fc2, godfather 2 hl2/cs:s dod:s and need 4 speed undercover, with the exception of crysis I played all the other games MAXD out, and FC2 max'd except only 4x AA. NBA2k9 on max ran at 160fps using fraps, thats pretty impressive to me considering the amount of detail and the large amount of fans in the crowd all moving at once... #'s and fps are one thing but to be able to truly play a game max'd out with no stuttering is worth $200.. like a $200 Playstation 4 really. lol
  8. I'd like to stay under the $215 range. I have an E6600 2.4ghz 4mb cache and only 2gb DDR667 so to have a card like a gtx 275 seems illogical. Although I might be getting ddr 1066 soon. The gtx 260 ran far cry on ultra 4x aa @ 45 fps average so Id like to find a deal on 260 or something along those lines. Best buy has the 9800GTX+ for $109, I wish I had an SLI mobo, not this hybrid SLI junk. I like building maps on FC2 and having lan games with friends so right now I'm kinda stuck with web browsing activites only and its boring
  9. I didn't RMA through BFG, I bought the card about 10 days from best buy, so it was still under the 30 day return policy. Walking out with my cash is much better than shipping cards and waiting for checks. Off to look through newegg now. thanks
  10. I recently purchased a BFG 260 maxcore 55nm from BB but it fried due to faulty fan.. Best buy refunded me the money and now I'm looking for a replacement card. I would like it to be equal to or greater than a 260 gtx and must be in good condition. Thanks
  11. I bought the x203h (no bd) from best buy about 2 months ago for $139, It's a really decent monitor if you don't watch DVD's on your PC. The 1600x900 seems to make DVD movies a bit grainy, but maybe thats just normal considering the viewing distance. For $100 this really cannot be beat, especially if you already have a monitor this could be a great second monitor or gift.
  12. I drove 30 minutes to best buy to get memory. I saw 1 bfg gtx 260 maxcore on the shelf for $199, I drove home grabbed my gts 250 which was going to be over the 30 day return policy at close of business.. returned it.. got the 260. I think I'm just going to keep the 260.. I can play far cry 2 on high-ultra settings with 2x aa at 1600x900 with 45 fps.. all other games play great too. plus within a hundred days I can trade-up if i need to...thanks.
  13. I didn't even think about looking for updated chipset drivers! I'll see what I can find, thanks!
  14. I just bought a BFG GTX 260 maxcore 55nm for $199 + t A guy I know just got a Sapphire Radeon 4890.. for $205 I currently game at 1600x900 native on twenty inches (not to say I won't upgrade my monitor in the future) Considering I know nothing about ATI, I would like to ask if anyone can tell me which card is better for the next 1-2 years so I can either except my gtx 260 as good enough or id $5 more going to buy me more performance?
  15. I just upgraded from an E2200 to an E6600 and I noticed in Sandra benchmark that my E6600 is running about 20% less on the test than the same listed E6600 in the refernce section of the benchmark.. specs: E6600 Asus P5L-MX mobo 2 x 1gb Kingston 667mhz memory 5-5-5-5-20 Antect earthwatts 650 bfg gtx 260 Is there anything I should have done after installing the cpu other than update cpu in device manager? thanks again for the help I receive from this forum!
