#2082229 Bioshock: Infinite

Posted by greengiant912 on 29 March 2013 - 02:05 PM

I'm making a let's play series of this game on 1999 mode in HD. If anyone is interested this is my channel: www.youtube.com/sackpatrolHD

I never got the point of "Let's play" videos on youtube. Isn't the whole point of video games to play them yourself? Why should you sit there and watch someone else play them and ruin the game for you? Its like movie spoilers...

Go out and buy the game and play it!

I'm disappointed in infinite . it's become another boring shooter . being a huge fan of 1 and 2 ( beating them multiple times ) . so far my impression is they feed us garbage compared to the 2 prior .

I have yet to beat it but I don't know how much my statement will change . well at lest I know how the 100million in marketing was spent ...

I would disagree, I am almost finished with the game and I was surprised at how much better it was than Rapture. To me Rapture was more of a horror story, and I hate horror movies. Columbia is so vivant and sprawling with life, and it feels like it is an actual living breathing city. Rapture was dead, and dark.

One thing I have noticed is how there seems to be a lot less back tracking in this game, which is good. Personally I dont like going back to a place I cleared out 20 minutes ago and having to clear it out again. There are some fights that do take place like this but it isn't overdone like it was in Rapture.

^^ doesn't that prove that they are? People from both sides of the isle voted to uphold it, if I understand what you said correctly.

It dose, its obvious though that some of them did vote along party lines, as it was a narrow 5-4...

Now I think the republicans need to focus on changing aspects a little at a time. It is going to be very hard to repeal the whole bill as it is, but if they make small changes its much more likely to pass both the house and senate.

Some things in the law are good, like insurance until 25 for college students, pre-existing conditions, and making it so that it is illegal to charge more for women to be insured...

Outright repeal is just dumb, and is a lot of work and wont make everyone happy, if you work on changing somethings the chances of coming to a middle ground are more likely imo...

#2003137 Yet another thread to complain about shipping...

Posted by greengiant912 on 20 February 2012 - 09:18 PM

You paid for a level of service and they will deliver against that expectation rather than what makes sense. If it gets there "On Time" then they can say they delivered it as requested. Kind of like the route management software I have at work. Its more about delivering against an expectation than delivering it sooner than expected if that makes sense.

That's the thing, I paid for 3-5 day shipping. UPS has always been constant with shipping to me before the 5 day period (99% of the time getting here on the third day, the other 1% is usually here within the 2nd day or 4th day...) I have never had a UPS package take longer than 4 days...

I understand why they put that range due to weather conditions and what not, but I have had packages come from across the country faster than this one who originated 90 miles from me...

/shrug, its not a real big deal... I just think that its kinda ironic that they would waste space storing my packages for 2 days... Its a shame I can't just go pick them up as it is only 20 minutes away, its still freaking stuck at the sort facility here in Milwaukee... :-\

Dose FedEx have an obligation to get it to me before than? Heck no as your right I paid for the 3-5 day... As a business and wanting to keep customer satisfaction high they should strive for faster handling time... Just my thought...

Yes, it is wrong to use drugs. Yes, you are stupid if you do - but only if you dont seek rehabilitation or treatment and get rid of your addiction else death is probably inevitable
But lets not turn this into an ethics and flame debate, you are entitled to speak your mind within a certain degree

:withstupid:

We all make choices to do things, we al pay the consequences if those things are bad... She did drugs, whos fault was that? Hers! She had the ability to seek help, did she? No.

Its the same thing with Drunk Drivers, I have zero sympathy for idiots who decide to drive home drunk then crash into a tree or worse another person... A few months ago a friend of my sisters flipped her car and got thrown out the bak window, she was drunk. My sister and her group of friends were so sad that she was hurt, and started doing things for her and what not. I am sorry but I have zero sympathy for that, she made a choice which was a stupid one, and now she has to live with it. She should be thankful that she is alive and didn't kill anyone else, but we all know a soon as she is back on her feat she is going to be back partying and raving it up, and likely find herself in another position to drive home drunk....

Stupid People...

She took drugs, people who take drugs are stupid... Period.

#1976684 American Airlines

Posted by greengiant912 on 04 December 2011 - 01:29 AM

What part of the US do you live in? None of that sounds accurate, Americans love the cheapest price, that's the goal of most Americans. If that wasn't true then we wouldn't be losing factory jobs to China and other countries, we wouldn't be hiring illegal mexicans to do the "jobs we don't want", we wouldn't eat at the worst restaurant in the word, McDonalds, we wouldn't do a lot of the crap we do if our first thoughts were Quality or Good Customer Service.

Maybe you go to PF Changs or the Olive Garden, maybe you pay that premium for a nice quality computer or piece of furniture, maybe you strive for quality in everything you buy and jump at any chance to buy something made in the USA. Sadly most Americans do not, because they're usually under educated and can only understand simple math, that's why they would gladly choose a disgusting, heart attack on the way, cheeseburger at McDonalds instead of a nice chicken salad from some locally owned restaurant.

As a person who lives in once nice town, but now a small dying town, it's pretty depressing to see everything I just mentioned happening around my town on a daily basis.

What I ment to say is "prefer". The two examples I gave, were just that examples. You could apply it to a local restaurant, or any other higher quality of service business...

Believe it or not Americans are very service aware. Even with the crappy economy we spend a lot of money on service oriented businesses. Think about this for a second, you see a bottle of your favorite name brand soda in the super market, and you see the cheaper store-brand alternative right next to it priced cheaper. Chances are your still going to shell out more for the name branded one.

Same goes with businesses, if business A offers a service that is pretty basic, and business B offers the same service but offers you a free widget, chances are the person is going to chose. Its Business 101 dude...

Lets take the same example and apply it to the airline industry.

ValueMax airline offers roundtrip service from destination x to destination y for $250, and charges you $50 to check your bag, as well as a e-ticket fee of $30. They also fill the plane to max capacity, offering little comfort. For a total of $330.

Superair has the same service from destination x to destination y for $340, they do not charge you extra, and also have more comfortable seating.

Is the choice really that hard? Of course your going to pay a little more upfront to ensure your comfort. The problem is the airlines don't even try to attract customers anymore, at least a great majority of them don't. They kinda just expect customers to fly regardless, They have no need to compete with each other, Thus they all offer the shoved into a steel tube like cattle "service".

There are a few airlines who are trying to bring back the service in flying, flying should be treated like eatting out, you are paying a premium to fly, thus you should receive service on-par with what you have paid...

If you don' t like your job get a new one....

Sorry to sound like an butt, but its up to you to make your life happy. Regulation of the Airline industry isn't going to help...

You didn't say directly in your post, but I am assuming your a pilot?

You can be frustrated all you want, but if your not getting paid as much as a garbage man, then why don't you become one?

I am so sick of the people who complain about how much they make and blah blah, I hate my job etc... You are the only one that can change that, the government isn't going to do that for you.

My dad is the same way, he would rather work in a dead end job because he dosen't think there are other opportunities out there for him. Their are if you are wan't it bad enough and are willing to work hard enough for it.

To go back to my main point however. Americans want a high quality of service. That is why we goto PF Changs, and the Olive Garden, over cheaper alternatives. We want an environment that is oriented to customer comfort, and that cares about the customer. The government de-regulated airlines, the airlines didn't have to throw out customer service. They did, and now people dread flying... They shot themselves in the foot, LET them FAIL! It sounds harsh to the many that would lose their jobs, but thats capitalism, according to many conservatives. Its not the government's fault that the airlines don't want to pay their pilots a fair wage.

You always have the opportunity to strike as well... Take action if you don't think your getting paid well, do something about it...

BTW the majority of people who work Monday-Friday, Only get about 8-9 days off a month... You get an extra few days dude!

Wow extremely fun rubberbanding and vehicle crap. Can't wait for infantry only and good servers, vehicles just kill the mood in this game. (Can't even move without one of the 3 million different types of vehicles killing me)

Vehicles is Battlefield. 1942 was all about vehicles when it came out, and thats what always made these games so much fun! Unlike the spray and pray Modern Warfail seires...

#1952130 I think I just dropped out of college today.

Posted by greengiant912 on 02 September 2011 - 05:42 AM

Well I was in my web programming class today and I just got fed up with all this learning crap. I dropped all my classes and I am going to talk with the people whom I owe money too tomorrow.

I am just sickened by this college, I don't understand why I should want to keep going here. Maybe I will find a new school but CS isn't for me.

Talk me out of it if you want but I really don't want to be at Bemidji State anymore. It's just lame, not my kind of place. It's so shallow and I hate it.
Details tomorrow.

Sometimes too people aren't ready for college right out of high school. Thus was the case for me, I ended up dropping out a few days after classes started too when I originally went into college after High School. Eventually after working a crappy arse job for a few years I realized that I really do need to get through college and went back. I am now working on my last year of my BS in Information Technology.

I would suggest that you don't give up on the idea totally, but take a break from education. Travel see stuff and have fun, its what I ended up doing. Sometimes you gotta mature a little too, which was my issue as well.

When and if you do consider giving it another shot, I recommend you start off with one or two classes a semester until you get in the swing of things. Also Community Colleges and Technical Colleges might have decent transfer programs, it is a lot cheaper to get a 2 year associates degree as well, and transfer on. I would check you area and see what schools offer good transfer programs.

i hope this expo doesn't cost more than 20 bucks...

The expansion will likely be $39.99, similar price point to the world of warcraft expansions. A collectors edition will likely run you much more ($79.99). Unless the fascist bean counters at Activison decide otherwise...

#1923200 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Posted by greengiant912 on 13 May 2011 - 10:14 AM

Nobody cares...

Lol, I personally gave up on the COD franchise a while back. Activision doesn't care about producing a good game, so much as they are concerned about producing a quick buck. Its no longer about the games, its about the money... Just my two cents.
