wow 1000 bucks....cool iv been listing to music mfor 50 years.....i run my computer thrugh a denon 3300 avr with paradigm speakers... reference 100s.....try to get a denon if u can....u reeally dont need a high end receiver....with a 1000 bucks i would check out audiogon.com......and look at used stuff......audiofiles take great care of there equiptment.....also read a lot of reveiws....good luck with you endever.......sorry i coulnt help more...peace
