  1. Thats what I thought :\. Thanks for all your help guys. What I will probably end up doing is buying another raid controller and run the 2 500GB drives in 0 for throughput and use the built in controller for the 3 TB drives in raid 5. As far as the OS I will be running Vista Ultimate 64bit.
  2. System Specs: Asus p5n32-sli premium ( mobo ) Ati x1950 pro ( gpu ) 3x 1TB 3.5" HD's 2x 500GB 3.5" HD's 3x Dvd burners Core2Duo E6600 ( OC'd to 3.2 ) 2gb of pc8500 ram ( Mobo will not run them at 1066 mhz , now running at 900) I have my dvd collection back up to dvd's. We are talking about 350-400 dvd's. My plan is to create .iso files out of them and mount them to a virtual drive whenever I want to watch one. I am simply tired of them getting scratched up and not working. I thought my 400 dvd changer would fix the problem but that is a pain in itself and once networked the raid array will provide a much better solution. I have never set up a raid array before :\. I know that I can set up the 3 TB drives for 2TB in raid 5. Is there anyway to incorporate the 2 500GB drives into the array? Can I have it look at the 2 500GB drives as another TB drive? I really could use the extra space considering that my movies will eat up the 2 TB . Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.
