  1. Hello, I am about to buy a power supply and need to make sure it has enough power to do what I intend to achieve. Please let me know your recommendation or thought. Thanks Will a 700W PS enough to overclock my 2.4GHZ Q6600 to 3.4GHZ with ATI 4850 graphic card, 4gb DDR3 10333 memory on GA-EP45T-DS3R Motherboard? I am looking at buying this OCZ StealthXStream OCZ700SXS 700W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply.
  2. Hello, I current have ati 4850 card on my Gigabyte GA-EP45T-DS3R Motherboard which is capable of crossfiring. I am currently looking at upgrading the card and need sugguestion on these two options: 1) Buy another 4850 card to cross-fire @ around $100. 2) Sell my old 4850 and chip in a little more than $100 to buy a new 4870 or 4890 card. Thanks
  3. Hello, I am not sure what is causing my computer to freeze after several minutes of gaming. This happened recently. Is it caused by my graphic card or memory, I don't know? Here is my spec. THanks CPU: E7200 (OC 3.5 ghz) MB: Asus P5Q Pro Memory: 4gb DDR2 PC6400 Crucial Graphic: VisionTek HD4850 PSU: Maxraid 730W PS. Graphic Card not oc.
  4. Hello, I just built a new system and need help overclocking to at least 3.5 ghz on my Intel Q6600 with Gigabytes GA-EP45T-DS3R board. So far I tried different settings and it always load back to the default setting at 2.4 ghz. Information: MB: Gigabytes GA-EP45T-DS3R CPU: Intel Q6600 Memory: OCZ Intel Extreme 4gb DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Graphic: Radeon HD 2600PRO Power supply: 500W Aspires I need help with settings and recommendation to make overclocking successful. Thanks
  5. Hello, I have my current E7200 on ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard system overclocked from 2.54ghz to 3.51ghz with Crucial 4gb (2x2gb) PC2 6400 memory at 4-4-4-12 @ 2.0V setting. I am running Vista 64 bit. Then, I got and installed another 4gb (2x2gb) of OCZ Reaper HPC Edition PC2 6400 memory with 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8v rating. System wouldn't boot as it indicate overclocking failed. What do I need to adjust the memory timing in the BIOS to achieve the same 3.51 ghz clock speed so I can have 8 gb of memory? Thanks
  6. Hello, I just brought a new GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-DS3R motherboard that supports only DDR3 memory for my Intel Q6600 so I need a recommendation between these two 4GB DDR3 1600 before buying it. The price for Latency 9 is around $30 cheaper. I have to consider price (tight budget) and future upgrade. Not sure how much faster is latency 7 compare to 9 on DDR3 or will it still be fast with latency 9. Thanks 1) CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), Cas Latency: 9, Timing: 9-9-9-24, Voltage: 1.8V 2) OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), Cas Latency: 7, Timing: 7-7-7-24, Voltage: 1.9V
  7. What is the difference for laptop? Which is a better buy @ approx $500, 1.6GHZ core 2 duo or 2.0GHZ Dual-core? Thanks
  8. Hello, I just brought a Visiontek 4850 card to install on my Q6600 (oc 3.33 ghz) and Asus P5Q Pro board, 4gb pc6400. I am experiencing computer freeze and black out while in vista 64 bit. First off, before the upgrade, I was using ATI Powercolor 3870 card on this same system and ran smooth with no freezing during normal or gaming use. Is my new 4850 board defective? I am using the latest catalyst 8.10. I have the fan turned to 60% and idle temp for the card is around 50C. I am using the mfg default setting. Thanks
  9. Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to crossfire an ATI 3870 & 4850 card on my Asus P5Q Pro motherboard. I am in this situation where I brought a 3870 for $100 - $30 MIR two weeks ago, then I brought a 4850 card from someone else for $125 couple days ago. If I return the 3870, I will lose $23 due to ($15 restock fee + $8 shipping). So, if it is crossfireable with the 4850 card, I might not lose $23. Thanks for any help or sugguestion.
  10. Hello, I recently upgraded my system to ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard with Coolmaster Genmi II cooler, 4gb OCZ 4-4-4-12 PC6400 memory and EVGA 9600GSO video card for my Intel Q6600. Got my system OC to 3.33GHZ with no issue. Then, I replaced the 9600GSO card with ATI HD3870 card, then start getting computer freeze after couple hours of computer activities or gamings. I am not sure what is causing the freezing, the overclocking or my new graphic card? i thought the graphic card issue only if it freeze during gaming only. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. Hello, I just upgraded to Asus P5Q Pro motherboard for my Intel Q6600 2.4 GHZ and need to upgrade my cooling to overclock to a least 3.5GHZ. I have narrowed down to the following heatshrink/fan under $50 and need final recommendation based on performance to achieve OC. Thanks 1. ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - Retail 2. 12. Hello, What is an acceptable 3DMark05 score for benchmarking? I got a score of in the 16,500 range at 1280x1024 resolution on the ATI powercolor 3870 512mb card. Thanks
  13. Hello, I just brought a POWERCOLOR AX3870 512MD3-PH and the spec shows Core clock: 775MHz Stream Processors: 320 Stream Processing Units Memory Clock: 1800MHz The overdrive (OC) section in Catalyse control shows the OC range of: Core clock: 300 - 850MHZ Memory clock: 900 - 1000MHZ Question is if the memory spec is 1800, why is the max range at only 1000? I called their tech supports, they told me it was x2, so at 900 setting it is actually at 1800MHZ. GPU-Z does not show actual clock at 2x. Is it right? or did I buy a crappy video card? I still have 2 weeks to return. Thanks
  14. Hello, I have an old ECS 671T-M motherboard http://www.scribd.com/doc/2217871/67...ry2=%22671t%22 and wondering if it will support my new graphic card I just brought EVGA 9600GSO PCI-Express 2.0x16. Thanks
  15. Hello, I need a recommendation for a video card for my MB ASUS P5Q Pro P45 (support crossfire) with 4gb of PC6400 ram running with Q6600 and vista 64bit. I brought 9600GSO card 2 weeks ago before I realized my motherboard only crossfire ATI card. So here is my decision based on my bugdet around $100. The option are: 1) returned 9600GSO card, purchased HD 3870 card. Purchased another later on for crossfire. 2) returned 9600GSO card, purchased NVIDIA 9800GT (not able to crossfire) and replace 9800GT later. 3) Keep 9600GSO and replace in couple years down the line. Thanks
