  1. I have a DFI motherboard for my build that was a few years back when amd was ahead its a socket 939 and this puppy works fine for me. I will say the "chipset" gets hot but it's nice for overclocking though this was also my first build so I haven't had any experience otherwise in other motherboards/overclocking. I think asus is fine too...also if you plan on going vista then I've heard that they don't always support over 3 gigs and I don't know if that has been fixed. And two 9800's means a lot of heat so you may want to think about cooling either aftermarket air cooled for both cards and a nice case with good flow or liquid cooling.
  2. I'd say zalman for a gpu heat sink and fan high 20's to 50 bux usually comes with the ram sinks but feel free to look around at thermaltake or thermalright for cpu and gpu...I wouldn't know how easily you could fit a zalman fan plus heatsink between two cards though. Sites I'd suggest for anything is newegg, tigerdirect, and zipzoomfly.com but for cooling in general frozencpu.com is nice and xoxide.com is ok. a friend of mine says petrastechshop.com is good for liquid cooling. hope that might help a little.
  3. well with the direct control i can adjust the bottom one but it changes all three and I'm not able to make each individual one different
  4. I got my new 8800GT zotac and decided i need a way to cool it and lately i can't spend much money on computer things. So i got RivaTuner installed and checked out the fan settings it said for all three 33%. I tried to move any of the 3 up and it wont let me. Can anyone tell me if this zotac 8800gt has a pwm controller for the fan or why I can't control the fan through rivatuner. I have the latest nvidia driver...please help. Oh and the temp idle is like 50C =/ I believe thats partly my case and probably many other things fault.
  5. ok well thanks alex45liu...seems I'll have to find another fast fan for the top that will fit...i just didnt know if it had screw holes in the top or not...if anyone has suggestions feel free to tell me.
  6. I have the case you see in my signature and was wondering if the thermaltake ufo fan could replace the exhaust fan on the top of the case...reason i ask is because of how it attatches I don't know if it has spots for screws or if it would fit with the original clip on things.

    Got Wii?

well actually i dont think the old wireless one i have supports what the wii needs...got the n lately but we r gunna return it for the g cuz i know wii supports that. Also i have an xp machine cuz i dont wanna use that system hog of an os(aka vista). to tell the truth when i first saw the controller i just though no im not gunna buy it...well i ended up with one...warmed up to it not too long after i heard of it but it did take a while for me to. i still need a one player geared game seeing ive worn out the ones i have if u ask me...basically waiting for guitar hero 3 since i can finally play a gh game...w/e i dont think ill sell it but if we get our router it may open up new options for me. the router we have now ive gone on it to check the thing and try to make it recognize the mac number and allow it to connect but it doesnt work...w/e
  8. well questions now are where do i buy "black RTV"? Where is the wire for the leds? and/or should cutting the leds off with a knife or something instead of snapping them off work and where should i cut?...any answer or new idea will help

    Got Wii?

ya...sadly the same for me(sept for the sell it part)...their games r too geared towards multiplayer gameplay and me and my neighbor used to play console games at eachothers houses all the time...till the dreaded xbox and halo 2 with xbox live took him away from me...lol jk but ya he did get adicted to that for the longest time and ive hardly heard from him since. Other than in school where he told me he's playing wow which im strictly against. if nintendo gets an adapter for ethernet connectivity ill take it(not as trusting towards the non nintendo stuff...) also i feel they need more one player games...im definately getting GH3 when it comes out finally i can play a gh game. i think if i feel like it i might buy some of those rechargable battery thingys though they aren't from nintendo and are bulky enough to stick out more than they should.
  10. actually its better to open a window in your room then one other so it can...i forget the word for it but w/e its better gets more air flowing
  11. well seeing duct tape didnt work i doubt marker will...nail polish may but i dont have any or a sister or anything...i heard someone on some website say black RTV and was wondering what that was. I also heard ppl snapping em off and it working though there was one person who said one of his didnt work after it...was thinking of taking a knife and cutting it off any other suggestions?
  12. ...couldnt find the cord...and i didnt want to mess too much with it...i even looked for diy sites other than this one and pictures of it opened up(which i can't find...) if anyone knows a site that could help please tell me or has pictures of its inards and/or of which cord is for the leds
  13. ok ill try the tracing the wire trick...hopefully that works ill send some other reply if it doesn't
  14. ive tried duct tape over it but i think the fan was hitting the duct tape and made a weird noise so i took it off. the leds are the really tiny ones and are on a board coming out of the center of the fan. this is the best picture i could find on the web of it http://service.comroad.co.jp/blog/kamimaezu/spotcoolLED.jpg
  15. before i posted this i tried to put duct tape over it but it hit the fan making a weird noise and the led was still bright enough to go through it...also the type of size of the led is one of those super tiny ones on some board sticking out of the center of the fan. http://service.comroad.co.jp/blog/kamimaezu/spotcoolLED.jpg is the best pic i found on the web
