  1. every review i ever saw that compare PCIe to AGP never got more than 1~3% and that may be due to cpu+mem my gto is only stable a 440:500 (16 pipelines) but the benchmarks are as close to standard clock 7800gt. the X1950 is going fix the problem with a lack of "true" HDR support.
  2. So we can conclude that using the nforce IDE drivers with none raid sata will delay your boot. i test the 5.10 drivers for a couple weeks and the IDE driver in the package is slow! nforce audio has less optimzation and features of realtek drivers that came with my board. i used the remix on my nforce 2 and this nforce 3.the 5.18 was shown in thread i found in google to use less cpu power and was faster than windows IDE driver. The nForce Win2K/XP driver package by DeathEvil contains the below components: Drivers dated 4/07/05 Audio driver version 4.60 (WHQL) Audio utility version 4.51 Ethernet NRM driver version 4.75 (WHQL) SMBus driver version 4.45 (WHQL) with updated uninstaller files Memory controller driver version 4.40 GART driver version 4.40 Installer version 4.60 Win2K IDE driver version 5.18 (WHQL) Win2K RAIDTOOL 2.7 application version 4.82 WinXP IDE driver version 5.18 (WHQL) WinXP RAIDTOOL 2.7 application version 4.82 Useless Network Access Manager deleted Compatibile with nForce 1,2,3,4 (however, I didn't have chance to test it on nforce 1 and 4 chipset) Many thanks for testing to everybody at: www.nvision.pl www.tweak.pl www.guru3d.com www.extremeoc.com Any questions send to [email protected]
  3. are you sure there is a conflict eith those other pci or sound devices? google them and find out?
  4. i just had a "veriting DMI" delay when my 4 year old 52x cd-rom died. eventually i tried a IRQ reset in the PCI section of the Bios and that apparently solved it(i wonder if it would work on the ATA 100 harddrive)
  5. are u sure that you had sound with the exact setup before the reinstall; with nforce drivers? did you read the IMPORTANT STICKY very well? if u really want the on-sound back, the only solution i see is to remove addin cards(except video) reset your bios freshly reinstall windows(or repair to save data) and setup motherboard drivers ,sound etc. first before anything else.
  6. are u using a sapphire x800 gto with the lil' heart shaped heatsink. that thing was apparently used on x800 Gt with 8 pipelines. 12 pipepline GTO will run near 82deg celisus as standard temp (under load ,57 idle). between 86~90 the card will shut down. the hot air from cpu may be blowing down on to the gpu. i could not maintain 16 pipelines for more than 20 mins at best while gaming until i got the VF700 cooler idle 40, 67 max i would recommend getting the ATiTool from techpowerup to manage the GTO card, if it is a sapphire "blue" gto?
  7. i had the long boot screen thing. it stopped when i removed my ATA100 drive it think it may have something to do with a bios setting, i never check it out though note: my floppy drive wos'nt booting around the same time, instally the ethernet driver "seemed" to fix it
  8. you have to test it part individually. -the thing with the ram may just be auto timings not working, try setting the timing manually -defragging has always messed my ata 100 drives up,i just use paritions of 25gig no real need to defrag -the PSU seems like to obvious culprit, a fading psu will cause random crashs, a failure at login screen. you should try another psu. a cheap 400w with 17A at 12v should boot you at stock settings and one drive
  9. Nforce sound drivers work on most nforce boards even though it might be a creative or realtek onboard chip. 1. try to load optimised defaults in bios.(the onboard sound uses a pci connection i think!, and it may be disabled. 2. search the DFI cd for other sound drivers and make sure the drivers are uninstalled properly before trying a new one(esspically the nforce)
  10. some kind of electrical interference or feedback, if it occuring when you move the mouse in windows alone (no programs) most likely the psu.
  11. using a 5/6 divider every program reported 203mhz memory clock when is was 208. the only program that reported it correctly was Ntune.
  12. you have to remove the processor and write down the OPN data from the surface. go to a website with an AMD OPN program or script and punch it in. you will get everything fom this, exact Model number, production date etc.
  13. Has anyone used the Fortran Source SLI Booster? or any other Auxillary GPU Power source?
  14. Is the Antec 550w server class model:true550weps12v really reliable and will last 3-5 years in my rig (with a tv card and dvd burner maybe) (my options are severly limited for a quick fix) any anyone with experience with the logisys 500w aryclic glacier comment. back story: i went to a respected computer store in this country that builts sli systems for a power that can handle the x800gto running at only (500:550) better fro cooling. my xtech is heating up and i get lock ups in catacombs level at stock (400:490 16pipes) clocking it back 325:425 16pipes works well and tested heat failure by running the fan at 15% no problems. i wanted a Logisys 500w Glacier rail +3.3V +5V +12V -12V -5V -5VSB max (A) 30A 50A 25A 0.8A 0.5A 2.0A but they said not to use it because of it was 20pin(24pin board). suggest i use a 500w generic(no_name) it made a "sparking" sound as soon a i loaded farcry.
