Ello everyb0dy, i've bought a AMD duron 1,2 gig with a 200 FSB. Also bought a ECS k7s5a-LAN mobo. But my problem is: the multiplier on an AMD Duron CPU is locked (or isn't it?!?). I've read about the pencil trick, has anbody done that and did your CPu like it ......? Al those pencil tricks are done on the L1 bridge, but on 700 till 850 Mhz processorz.... Ello everybody, i'm thinking of bying a AMD Duron processor about 1,2 gig or something. Of course this it gonna B OC !! But one question, most AMD procs are placed on a MSI mobo and i've heard that they are not suitable/hard to OC or are not very stable and good running when you've OC them. I've checked alot of sites, but still i want to know it from you guys.. What is a good processor to OC, i've got a Pentium III 600 @ 800, that's it's maximum, but my brother has a celeron 300, but has the multiplier unlocked to 4,5 instead of 3 and has it OC to 600, sow that's 100 % more than the original, mine can't get further than 33 % above original....... Has anyone ever gotten a multiplier unlocked on a pentium ? i haven't found anyone or anything about it.. And how is OC going on AMD Duron/Athlon processors? i think there are enough people here with different processors and mobo's sow please share it cause i'm also thinking about selling my P 3 and buying a Duron/Celeron cause those seem 2 B allot easier to OC if youre opinion is the same or not please reply!! check your bios (del key @ the beginning when you start you computer) try raising it there have phun gr33tz wZa

check this, i OC a celeron 266 to 675 (4.5*150) had it run for about 5 min. then restarted it, checked the bios >>> temperature was 97 C aaaaaaah, power off, phun over, now running stable @ 598 (4.5*133) a temperature for a intel pentium III 600@800EB (866 i think) about 50 C, is that okaj? gr33tz w Z a

i've OC my pIII 600 to 800 EB (133 instead of 100 MHZ) what does the EB mean?? and why does SiSoft Sandra (program that checks everythink in your computer) says that it's 1064 (8 x 133, that is the setting in the bios) but the computer itself 801 (6 x 133) ??? gr33tz wZa

when you look in your bios (del key at he beginning) you will find a frequency multiplier of 7 x 100 mhz adjust the 100 mhz to something like 133 (think that's about a stable max). 931 mhz is okay i think gr33tz wZa (intel pentium 600@866)

how do you control the RPM in your bios, never seen that before, it says how much RPM it is, but cannot adjust them hmz? ??? gr33tz wZa

ello got a little problem, i've made a simple pic in paint of the wiring inside my comp. I've made my 4 fan's run @ 5 OR 12 volts. thought why not share the picture but i can't attach it anybody who can help me here? gr33tz wZa

1 - is the cpu fan rpm supposed to flucuate like that ? No, in my comp it's running @ a constant rpm 2 - why is the system temp flucating within seconds? dunno 3 - what is that little fan ? a cooler so you processor won't overheat (very usefull ) 4 - if i wanted to change the little fan or any other fan can i jus change it can i jus pull the thing out and put another in ? yupz but be carefull with the wire-ing, hope you've got a simple plug that you can pull out of it (i think so) 5 - but wat about the HSF if i was to change the fan on the heatsink do i have to chnge the whole thing or can i jus change the fan ? dunno, but i think just the fan (don't really understand the question, cause i'm dutch lol ) 6 - if i was to change the heatsink i would have to take out the mobo ? think so, works allot easier 7 if i was to change the powersupply do i have to rewire everything or jus change the powersupply box? ( probably sounds stupid but i dont know ) you must change you whole powersupply box, dunno i've it cost as much as it's cost in holland (about 20 dollar) 8 - if i was to strip everything to bare bone and put everything back together will i still have configure the mobo, configure the hard drive, or configure the bios ? why can't you OC it?!? i have a p III 600@720+ have you tried it with the jumpers on your motherboard btw iz mobo the same as motherboard? Gr33tZz wZa

Of course you can overclock it, try pressing the del key at the first screen you get when you start your computer, then change your speed to something like 3,5 * 120, save changes and see what you get, if it works try extremer things my brother has a 300@450 so you should get it to run faster Gr33tZz wZa
