  1. w00t, it boots. On the first boot I loaded optimum settings, and on the second I set memtest to run, working on that right now 1 module at a time. Thanks for all the help wevspot and tasr, I'll post back with more results later.
  2. Ebil gets my vote. I like his 3rd one here, and the 1st if it didn't say overclock it. Null comes in second since the line through effect seems too busy to me.
  3. Yeah, my personal experience with newegg return has historically been a good one. I actually had to send back the first nF2 board. I'll print up the RMA info and mail it out tomorrow. Thanks for all the help so far guys. I'll post back when I get the new board back, before I plug anything in.
  4. I was pretty sure that I had tried the SLI thing before, but just in-case I tried it again, no go. I can't recall whether or not I discharged the caps before placing it in the case. Thinking back the problem didn't start until I had put everything in the case, so I'd say there's a strong possibility that your right. I knew about the grounding to the case and static, but had not heard about discharging the caps. Live and learn I guess. So, I guess the next logical step is to RMA the MB?
  5. I've tried a pci vid card, but I don't have another pci-e card that I can try. I pretty sure I'm still able to RMA to newegg or DFI.
  6. Amber LED, yes. No bios, correct. System will not post. Single long, no others. Both sticks, all slots, individual, no go.
  7. 3 with a beep every 4 seconds. Points to the ram, I know. With the RMA on the ram and having tried most everything else, it tends to point me toward something hardware on the MB.
  8. All of those steps have already been completed. I had it set up on the foam pad, on my wooden desk with 1 HDD, vid card, 1 stick in orange slot, ps2 KB, and a 36+ hr clear following the steps to the letter. Yes, all 4 connectors were plugged in. Forgot to mention, that the memory had been RMA'd, I know it works as I tried it in my computer at home. Tried a regular PCI card, no go.
  9. Well, I removed the back plate and put the stock plate and cooler back on. No effect. Thought maybe the metal plate from the ninja had shorted something. Still may have I suppose. Just to clarify my previous post, I had Tmod reprogram my current chip and I purchased a new chip as well.
  10. Ok, well I got my chips back from Tmod today and I tried both of them. No luck. Still doing the exact same thing. Just for crap and giggles I tried to start the machine with no bios chip. It gives 4 leds, and no beeps. In my opinion, this tells me that the bios chips are working and that the problem lies somewhere else. I'm going to try removing the ninja backplate and try the stock cooler. If that doesn't work, which should I RMA next, MB or CPU?
  11. Heh, no worries man. I noticed that the 7900 wants 12V @ 20A, but the psu will only put out 18A. Thoughts? Oh yeah, I'm gonna try some PCI vid cards just to see if that will do anything. I'll edit with results. I'll probably have Tmod reprogram my chip and buy a new one while I'm at it incase my chip is somehow damaged or FUBAR(can I say that here?). I just have to wait for my direct deposit to clear (or if central payroll messed up pick up my check). And then I'll be making an order. Thinking I should go with the 0704bta, since I've read good things about it. I noticed you're running it wev, comments?
  12. Yes, it's a digital multi-meter. I know there's the 5V and 12 12V on the molex, but what's the third? Unless molex includes the SATA power connectors. So, 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and the -12V? The table was each pin on the 20+4 connector. I'll just list the rails on it. 12V rail: 12.42-43 -12V rail: -12.49-50 5V rail: 5.09 5Vsb rail: 5.20 3.3V: 3.42-43 I could send back the MB, it'll be a devil of a time trying to get the back plate from the ninja off. :/ Everything is still under warranty and capable of RMA, so hopefully the plate won't leave too much residue.
  13. Ok, so I test my PSU voltages hooking up my DVDRW, FDD, HDD, 120mm fan x1 on a molex, and a cold cathode light on a molex, so that it would have some load on the 5v and 12v rails. I didn't have anything to load the 3.3v rail with. Here are the numbers: 12V molex No Load: 12.46 solid CC: 12.42-43 stable Fan+CC: 12.39-40 it would creep up .2 then drop down again. DVD+FDD: 12.41 CPU1: 12.41-42 it would flicker, alot CPU2: 12.41-42 same as above PCIE1: 12.40-42 same as above PCIE2: 12.41-42 same 5V molex No load: 5.09-10 Load: 5.07-08 20+4 pin ATX w/CC, fan, fdd, hdd, dvd 1: 3.42-43 *13: 3.43 2: 3.42-43 *14: -12.49-50 3: --- *15: --- 4: 5.09 *16: --- 5: --- *17: --- 6: 5.09-10 *18: --- 7: --- *19: --- 8: 5.09 *20: --- 9: 5.20 *21: 5.09 10: 12.43-44 *22: 5.09 11: 12.44 *23: 5.09 12: 3.43 *24: --- 20+4 ATX no load All of these with the exception of the 3.3V and 5VSB were unstable 1: 3.33 *13: 3.33-34 2: 3.33 *14: -11.89-12.19 3: --- *15: --- 4: 5.21-36 *16: --- 5: --- *17: --- 6: 5.21-36 *18: --- 7: --- *19: --- 8: unstable *20: --- 9: 5.20 *21: 5.24-36 10: 11.89-12.19 *22: 5.20-36 11: 11.89-12.18 *23: 5.22-36 12: 3.33-34 *24: --- Thoughts? Edit: Sorry about the formatting, I tried to put the atx numbers in the same layout as the connector and still have some space in between the numbers but the board removed the extra spaces, so just look for the asterics if you didn't already figure it out. Plus I'm working with a QVGA pda screen here. :/
  14. Thanks, I'll try that and post my results.
  15. TTT. Anyone else have any suggestions while I sit here posting on my PDA wishing it was being synced to my rig instead. Guidance on checking the volatages on my PSU. The last think I want to go is bust a good PSU(maybe), hurt myself, or fry my multimeter. BTW, I'm just letting the thing sit clearing. 36hrs+ so far. Gonna let it sit till Thurs or Fri. Unless anyone else has any bright ideas, or is close enough to meet for some troubleshooting.
