    Sound card

I've been there a few times but havent posted yet That would be super. :DThe only downside i see with the xplosion is that it only supports EAX 2.0 .Did you notice any performace hits when using the xplosion? And which of the 2 sounded better for games that do not support EAX? And would i notice a diff in sound if i hooked up one of those pocket cmoy amps to it?

    Sound card

$200 is just for the sound card, next paycheck ill either get the sennheiser HD595 or the audio-technica a900.I think im gonna go with the x-fi platinum thx for the quick replys
  3. Im looking to purchase a sound card Id mostly be using the sound card for gaming and watching movies. Im kind of leaning towards the x-fi platinum but iv seen alot of posts where people are complaining about popping noises. Also i wear headphones most of the time and im looking to spend around $200. Also im using these plantronics headphones that plug into a usb port ... if i were to get a sound card would i notice a diff in sound using these head phones?
  4. Thx for all of the replys i decided to go with the deskstars
  5. Would there be a big diff in loading times (windows/games) between 2x 36gb 10,000 rpms raptors in raid 0 vs 2 scsi cheetahs 15,000rpms in raid 0?
  6. Well theres a few scsi controllers on ebay that are in my price range ...if they end up going over my budget ill probably just get the raptors
  7. I only use this pc for gaming so im looking for speed more then storage space. I have a second pc that holds all of my junk
  8. 74GB WD raptor - OEM - $160 from newegg 2 raptors are $320 thats without tax and shipping costs 36gb WD raptor - OEM - $101 from newegg 2 raptors $202 without tax or shipping 36GB Segate cheetah - OEM - $79 from unityelectronics 2 cheetahs - $158+ $60 for a scsi controller - $218 without tax and shipping
  9. I dont think the cheetahs come in sata or ide so scsi is pretty much my only choice if i want to use this hd. Would 2 cheetahs running in raid 0 max the pci bus? if not id perfer a pci controller
  10. Im planning on buying 2x seagate cheetahs and running them in raid 0 but im not sure what scsi controller i should get. I have a budget of $60 for the controller
