  1. i disassembled and rotated it so it's facing the rear of the case... idle temps are now 28-30 instead of 35-37 with stock HSF, and load temps are 44-45 instead of 49-51 with stock HSF. i guess you just have to follow the instructions! :-)
  2. do you really need two 7900GTX??? why not just get one, save the money for when the DX10 cards come out next year
  3. angry_games, how is your unit holding up? i am noticing only a few degrees decrease in idle temps... my load temps are still the same, at around 50 degrees :-( this is with the fan blowing upwards (towards the 120mm fan at the top of my P180 case). i wiped off the paste that came with it, and am now using AS5.
  4. but will you actually notice the 300-500mhz more? :-)
  5. i got an arctic freezer pro 64 today, so i'm gonna up the voltage and see what i can get.
  6. yea... this thread definitely isn't a database.
  7. anyone who owns an arctic freezer pro 64, and a DFI ultra-d board -- which direction is your fan blowing? to the rear of the case, or towards the PCI slots? it seems like the mount isn't so stable if it is rotated 90 degrees to face the rear of the case, because all that's holding the bulk of the weight are those two little pegs. it also doesn't make sense to have the fan blowing hot air towards the pci slots, but someone on another post said that that orientation will help PWMIC temps. i got my arctic freezer pro 64 today, and have tried mounting with fan down, and then fan up. with fan towards pci slots, the pwmic load temps are waay too high, like 68-70 degrees. cpu load temps are the same as with stock hsf, at 49-51 degrees. with the fan blowing hot air towards the top of the case (there's a 120mm fan on top), pwmic load temps are much better, but my cpu load temps are still 49-50 degrees. i do notice that my idle temps are slightly better than stock HSF, from 37-38 to 34-35 am i doing something wrong? i am using Arctic Silver 5.
  8. honestly, who actually notices the difference between 2.8 and 3.0? heck, i hardly even notice my overclock from 1.8 to 2.6....
  9. I've got the same stepping... right now, it's at 2.6ghz, but my arctic freezer pro 64 arrrives tomorrow, so I can hopefully bump up the voltage with lower load temps.
  10. after browisng around, it seems like having the fan facing downwards is actually better, as it really helps the PWMIC temps... i guess there's only one way to find out :-)
  11. eliatamby, is your 0607 prime 95 stable? i will be very very surprised if you can get higher than 2.6 ghz with that... I had an 0607 myself a few weeks ago, it wouldn't even do 2.5 ghz stable at 1.5volts. core 0 was ridiculously weak, and other people on other forums agree that it's a crap stepping.
  12. I have a CCBWE 0551UPMW that i got brand-new last week. It's prime stable 12hrs+ @ 2.6ghz @ 1.45V. I haven't tried anything higher, waiting for my Arctic Freezer Pro 64 to arrive on Tuesday, and then I don't have to worry so much about my 50c load temps.
  13. is your memtest at 2.7Ghz settings stable?
