No Video - 1 DIAG LED, 1 Long Beep, 2 Short
fmskrimp replied to DIE-HARD's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
I've had the same problem since last week. I thought it was my VGA, but a friend of mine tested my 7800GTX & it works flawlessly. Ive tested a Ati X700 Pro + oldskool S3 Virge PCI in my system, but the problem remains. Im going to RMA my board tomorrow. I've also tried the long official CMOS clear, with no result... -
Forgive me for kicking this "old" topic, but how does one enable or disable NCQ on the Ultra-D? I want to disable it on my Raptor WD1500ADFD, but haven't found out yet how to disable it...

I went the point of purchase, they filled in the necessary paperwork & sent the board to DFI. I missed my baby for about 1.5weeks It may take about 1 to 2 weeks in my experience. We do have almost the same setups -

way too much hard drive activity

Probably swapping to the HD. I also played bf2 with 1gig of mem, when I upgraded to 2gb, performance went up into the sky! No more swapping etc etc -
Have you manually set an divider or left the mem setting at Auto?

Noob, question, wont start up

Have you tried the board out of your case? Call it the Pizzabox setup if you will Boot with the least amount of necessary hardware, so only connect -The 3 power connectors -your cpu -your gpu + any 6pin pci-e power plug -1 stick of mem in the orange slot farthest from the cpu socket Then try again, GL -
The 2 standy leds are ok, nothing to worry about. The diagnostic leds are more important, how much stay lit when booting? Have you also connected all "4 power points"? -24pins ATX 2.0 -4pin power plug next to the 24 pins -Floppy drive connector under the CPU socket -4pin molex on the right side of the motherboard

The long CMOS clear did not work. Mem was also free of errors. I RMA'd this board aswell. I picked up my other board which came back from the RMA, they replaced it with a new one. I aint touching the bios no more! Im posting this reply from my own system as we speak -

Hmm, it still does not work...Tomorrow, Im going away for the weekend. Im letting my mobo sit with no power, battery out + cmos jumper on clear. Lets see if that helps, if not Im returning my mobo on tuesday. Just to be sure, Im probably will memtest my memory for at least 24hours... -

Yesterday I phoned my mate who was in the process of hotflashing my bios chips. He couldn't flash them with: A:awdflash xxxxxxxx.bin /py /sn /cc /cd /cp /LD /f /tiny /E His pc would be stuck at the "Please Wait" screen or so. By just running awdflash & typing the bios name manually it would flash, but then he couldn't boot with it. Not even with a CMOS clear. He got the same error as me, 3 diagnostic leds on... By trial and error we found out it was the /LD /f /tiny flags which were giving us problems. We then used: A:awdflash xxxxxxxx.bin /py /sn /cc /cd /cp /E & he was able to boot with my bios chip! Today I got them back, but Im now stuck @work, so have to wait untill 5pm, then race home, hook my system up & power it on. Update will follow soon. Still keeping my fingers crossed  -
I know, but it could be a faulty memory controller or such. He already tried that My guess is the cpu
-
It prolly does not Check out this page: http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/mb_cpu_suppo...ID=3872&SITE=US Seems optys aren't supported by DFI, if you have another cpu lying around, test the other one out on your mobo. This way you can rule out your cpu...

Its on the Official page, so it must be real http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/bio..._FLAG=B&SITE=US

This dude has almost the same problem : http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49408 I believe this is an incompatibility with the Maxtor HD & the Nforce4 chipset
