  1. uhhh...I thought we were only spose to have one WTB thread - isn't changing the title how to do it?
  2. Hey Soundx - thanks for the info - that explains a lot ...and EllisD you just gotta stop breaking threads,,,
  3. ...and I thought I was the only one around here still running a slot A I did stop using it for flight sim though when I started with FS 2004. If he is using it with flight sim 2004 or newer (Gawd Forbid) you will have nothing but headaches. What I did was buy an 800 Thunderbird and stuff as much memory in it as I could - I think 384Mb. It made all the difference in the world - almost as fast as a socket A - surfing anyway, and it cost only about $20. Both are still for sale on the ebay and memory is really cheap right now. Sorry, I don't have a DVD ROM for you though -- Good Luck!
  4. OK thanks a lot - sure appreciate the advice. I ordered the board from Epox and I should have it next week. It's my first attempt with DDR2 -yeah, I know, I'm behind but I'm in the sweet spot for price.
  5. Thanks Doc - Looks like a good deal to me. Any suggestions on memory? I was eyeballing the G.Skill 4Gb on sale @ Newegg for $79 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231122 or do you think the faster timings are worth an extra $20? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231148
  6. I've been looking for an inexpensive board to pair with an X2 5000 or 5600. That $84 sale @ the egg on the Black 5000 got my attention but I missed it. Still... it's only $95 now with free shipping. Anyway Epox has this board (EP-AF570+ULTRA) on sale for only $60 and I was wondering if anyone could let me know if it has any quirks that I should avoid and if it overclocks well. Doc....?
  7. Yep, they sure do http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136054
  8. Found Ok.. Now what I'm lookin for is a DFI Infinity Ultra nF2 or LP nF2 (B) or maybe an Abit NF7-S. I need to be able to test some parts , mostly XP-Ms so I'll need a healthy chipset. I like the DFi's only because that's where I'm comfortable and I don't have a lot of time these days to learn new stuff. Plus I got that Awsome BIOS disc by TMOD
  9. I still got the Corsair BH-5 and the Great little XP-M. Neither one has ever been run hard - only benched just for grins.
  10. Oh yeah, I'll be glad to have that G Skill Please YGPM
