  1. im pretty sure its just the floormates dowloading their warez and pr0n cuz there are occasions, very few at that, where i can play games with low ping and without spikes during regular hours.
  2. OK. the situation i have right now is that I am at a university and in my dorm room we are on a LAN. People somewhere surrounding me that are on my network are hogging the bandwidth during peak hours. the only time i can have no-lag during online games and downloads is like 3am in the morning. Is there a way i can set my priority higher or something. I am in CAL and i play counter-strike 1.6 on tuesday nights at 9pm est. this also happens to be the prime time that these people keep downloading their porn and whatnot. I hate people that just leave their p2p on 24/7. Someone please help me find a way to have higher priority over these fools.
  3. do u think its better off if he just got a new cpu and a 7800gt with mobo deal? cuz he still has to get a pci-e gfx card.

  5. i'm a nub, cuz i bought the fx-51 for my brother a year ago. bad choice i know. but is there a mobo that has 940 socket and has pci-e. hes stuck on agp right now using a 9800pro.

  7. does that cable actually draw more power from the 4pin power cable? would u recommend me getting that if im only using the 4pin right now?
  8. yea i have 3 of the 4. i have an expert board, i dont see any 4pin molex connection port anywhere? i was looking at the chipset fan region. i have the other one that is near the pci-e slot.
  9. Angry_games, my first build was with the expert board (yes its ironic). My build fortunately went fine. but i just wanna ask, why did u first build it outside of the case with just one ram module? is this to check if anything is wrong with each part as u recieve them? so u can RMA them if necessary? Also, on my expert board, i dont have the female 4pin connector near my chipset fan. i only have the 24pin and 4pin. and then a small 4pin near the first pci-e slot. am i missing anything? im pretty sure im not but i just want you to clarify.
  10. nice review, i feel better now knowing im not losing significant performance. but i'm still wondering about the effects on the chipset. i think the gfx card being on the bottom is better for the cpu and ram though, but i want it all
  11. ok good, you moved it from the first pci slot to the second. u had my question wrong, but this works out. i was asking if my CHIPSET temps were high because my gfx card was on the lower slot and the hot air would rise to the chipset fan. especially in my case because the gfx card i have is an eVGA 7800gtx KO. taht card is like a block, not a thin card. it has an entire casing around the card as a heatsink. can u check to see if ur temps on ur chipset has increased after u moved ur gfx card to the 2nd slot? also, i have a pc-60 plus. im assuming u have the regular 60. do u think my airflow would be okay if i switched out the fans for nexus silent 80mm and 120mm fans? i already ordered them so i cant get the panaflos. edit: and i was looking at ur pic, awesome lights, i was thinking of putting the cathode on my actual side panel, right below the window, but thats a really good spot too. when i was looking at ur actual case, i figured out u DO have the regular 60. which brings me to my next question, i was wondering if since ur not using the 3 floppydrive slots, if u could fit a 80mm fan in there, and have an additional intake, and then you can put some aftermarket mesh in front of the fan. I think that would be cooler (pun intended). also, how did u manage to connect the front audio ports to the karajan on board audio. i donno if u have front audio ports on the front bottom, by the plus version does, and it cannot reach the backtop of the mobo.
  12. KBY. in the mobo manual, it says use an 8pin if ur psu has one, if not, use the 4pin. My comps using the 4pin right now. I have an additional 4pin near the 1st pci-e slot and then the standard 24pin. i think it should be enough, it isnt the source of your problem. well im not getting zapped by my tower at least, and i have an all aluminum lian li.
  13. thanks a lot. i finally figured it out myself yesterday before the post, i saw the 8-NC-4-8 and i was like "this must be it" and then i changed the SLI aperature to enabled as well. I didn't however, uninstall/reinstall drivers. It still works fine for me. I only have 1 eVGA 7800gtx. I wanted SLI enabled because i had the card in the 2nd drive. Would u recommend i change it back to 16-1-1-2 and put the card in the first slot? edit: also, i notice u have the 9500. although u dont have the new stock amd hsf, how do u like that zalman, i was thinking of either that or a ninja. On the expert, they can creat a windtunnel, but then again a ninja could do that too.
  14. on the side: yeah i have that power supply too. which color do you have. I have the silver one. All chromed and mirror finish - looks so sweet. If u have the silver one, do u know if the sleeves are Uv reactive?
