  1. Actually I just need to rework my damn signature, I had the value ram on "temporary loan" from Fry's while waiting for my parts (the no re-stocking fee is nice). I've been trying to get some pc4000 VX but it's IMPOSSIBLE to find it anywhere, I even called OCZ and they checked to see if it was in stock anywere and unfortunately it wasnt. They told me to go with a high bandwith Platinum edition and I've been considering the pc4200/pc4000 2Gb kits but I'm still not sure due to the semi crap latency. I asked them if anything came close to being as good as the VX for a DFI Expert board and they said no due to the high voltage you can feed the ram so I'm still desperately trying to get ahold of some. I just wanted to use the crap memory in my comp until I can figure out if there's any more VX out there. If ANYONE knows of any please let me know!
  2. no luck, tried both sticks, 1 at a time in both configurations. The memory is: "Avant Technology AVM6464U52C3400K4-A" w/Avant branded chips
  3. well to be honest I am using a set of 2 x 1Gb old crap memory at the moment.... still waiting for new ram, I've tested it in my old rig (after using it in my new one) and it works fine in the old rig but it IS old and crappy single sided memory. I've tried it in all supported configurations listed in the manual and none work. Could it be that the board just wont accept it? Thanks!
  4. Hi there, I just put together my system yesterday (check sig) and it is just giving me a black screen, note I'm using an xfx 7800 gtx oc and I've tried both CRT and LCD screens on the output with no image showing up. The 4 "debug" lights get to 3, (detected CPU) and then just stands there with no screen image. How can I figure out what's going on? I was assuming the cpu since that's where it stalls (even though it does detect it) but it should be in perfect condition and I just took it out of my other system where it was working fine. Please help! Please note I'm not running SLI yet, just single card unlike what my sig is saying and I'm not running my vapochill yet. Thanks, Chris
  5. Thanks! Someone told me to go with pc4000 but after looking at some OCZ Gold reviews it seems like that's the way to go, 2-2-2-5 1T @ 258MHz is just sick! Now if money isn't an object what BH5 memory performes the best? I'm looking to run 4Gb in two dual channel kits but if performance goes down on 2Gb kits (I hear timing is worse) I wouldn't mind going with a 2Gb setup in 2 x 1Gb dual channel kits. I've found the OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Gold GX XTC @ 240HTT, 2-2-2-5, 3.0v, is there anything faster out there ?
  6. Hi there, I am in the process of putting together a new computer and I'm a bit baffled as to what water cooling solution to go with. My setup will be a vapochill LS unit for the CPU and watercooling for two 7800 GTX OC's. For the waterblocks it seems like the Danger Den NV78 Nvidia 7800 series block would be the best, anyone know of a better one? It'd be nice to have one that I could use on future upgrades, but this is not a requirement. What pump, radiator and resorvoir would you guys recommend for maximum cooling and performance? Is there a clear winner as far as water cooling systems go? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Hi there, What would be the best possible memory to use with DFI LANParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert and an FX-57 OC'd with a vapochill LS cooling it? I'm have no idea what the highest stable multiplier and clock frequencies will be with that kind of cooling (still waiting on the vapochill). Is there a "standard" stable clock frequency for OC'ing FX-57's where the memory would be happy and just use the multiplier for further OC'ing of the CPU? Under these circumstances does anyone have an idea what memory would be the best performer? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
