  1. Solved: Just a stupid mistake; the connectors were not well seated, so no contacts! Thanks ExRoadie for your attention; there are really more serious problems than that; sorry for taking your time. E_veen
  2. It is an Intel standard connector (keyed). So if I understand well, I have just to check the continuity; no particular setup on the mobo. E_veen
  3. Like my sig tells it, I am using the LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D with the Antec P180. This box has in the front bezel connectors for usb (2), firewire port and audio ports. The audio ports is working OK. But I have problems with the usb ports; these are connected with the appropriate cables to USB 7-8, USB 9-10 connectors on the mobo. But I connect usb devices (camera, webcam) to the front ports, nothing happens; the ports 1-->6 on the rear are working just fine. Is there anything to adjust in the BIOS, or jumpers to make it work ? E_veen
  4. I am using Linux and just installed the lm_sensors suite. It is what I get: Fan 1: 730 RPM; Fan 3: 4017 RPM VCore1: 1,39 V VCore2: 1.18 V +3.3V : 3.33V +5V : 5.05V +12V : 12.10V -12V : -15.70V -5V : -2.14V M/B TEMP: 28 CPU TEMP: 44 What is bothering me is the Fan1 reading, which seems somewhat low, and the negavive voltage. Should I investigate further ? If so, any idea ? E_veen P.S. I have installed WinXP Professionnal on another partition, which I use rarely. What is the application in Windows world to get these hardware informations ?
  5. For the past few weeks I am been reading posts here and the numerous difficulties setting up a system, so I have been sort of freaking out just to touch one MOBO from DFI. My first choice, before knowing DFI, has been Asus A8N-E, but when I learned that my DVB-S SkyStar2 PCI would not work with it, I had to find an alternative. Somebody on another forum suggested that DFI LanParty NF4 was doing fine with SS2 and said to look to dfi-street.com for more informations. But boy, how frightened was I at first! Finally I made the plundge (see my SIG); this is my first build, although I have played with peripherals before. I received my system Friday afternoon, did some readings, and Saturday morning did the installation of processor and heatsink (stock) Did a 3 hours memtest86 on each of my memory sticks, OK with no errors up to the 13th pass. This morning, I installed both sticks in dual channels mode. The only glitch that I have is that my memory settings are CAS 2-3-2-5. I guess that I have some readings to do again. But so far, so good. (I am crossing my fingers).
