  1. Uhg.. forgot to enable memory hole in BIOS.. reports 3668152 now. Seems a bit low though, is this what I should be reporting at post with 4x1gig?
  2. Having a hella time getting 4 sticks to work. All 4 stick Identical, all purchased this week. 2 Sticks run fine in any combination. CPC off. Lower some timings and bump up some voltage and I can boot up with 4 sticks. And see a little more RAM at post, which is strange, Bios reports 2619704. Which XPx64 also reports as available. CPU-Z reports all 4gig being there though. New memory I picked up: - G.Skill f1-3200phu2-2gbns [2x1GB] (?) [2.5-3-3-6] Part number: f1-3200phu2-2gbns http://www.gskill.com/f1-3200phu2-2gbns.html
  3. Found something interesting... June 2006 Testing it out now. Wierd it wasn't listed on the Opteron or X2 Driver page. http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Techni...71_9706,00.html
  4. I had installed the AMD patch and turned off the Cool'nQuite when I first built my system in january and never had any issues with the set-up listed in my sig. That was until I flashed the BIOS last week from (BIOS 06/23/2005) to (BIOS 04/06/2006). Now I experience the client speeding up on Planetside, DAOC, EQ2, after 6-8 hours of continual play. Uninstalled and reinstalled the AMD drivers, no joy. Only fix right now is to reboot, then everything is dandy for another 8 hours. PC can be on any length of time without issues starting a game up, but if the game is on for said amount of time the problem pops up and does not go away until a fresh PC reboot.
  5. Yes they are the same version. I bought another 2x512 within the same month, after I did not get the overclock results I wanted from the first 2x512. I have everything running at stock now. Yes windows reports 1 Gig. Any of the 4 sticks can be used in any combination in either orange or yellow and boot fine. All 4 sticks can be installed and boot fine except for the 2 Gig not showing, only 1 Gig. Except when using CPUZ can I see the 2 Gig.
  6. Anyone know why RAM reported at POST and Window's System Info would be different from CPUZ's reported? I am only showing 1 gig per POST and Window's. Have 2 installed and is reported corectly by CPUZ.
  7. That was it CPC timing. CPU post fine and for a few months showed 2 gig at post. I recently noticed it only showing 1 gig at post and in windows system information. Thinking there may have been a loose contact with one slot, I started pulling and reseating. CPU will post shoeing 1 gig with any of the 2 sticks in either orange or yellow. But will still show 1 gig at post with all 4. CPUZ will show 2 gig...
  8. 1=======O ram1.......1======O ram3.....1=====O..............1=====O 2=======Y...............2======Y.............2=====Y ram1......2=====Y ram3 3=======O ram2.......3======O ram4.....3=====O...............3=====O 4=======Y...............4======Y.............4=====Y ram2......4=====Y ram4 .....POSTS!....................POSTS!................POSTS!................POSTS!
  9. The CPC issue I found on the 3dmark site... it was an issue with thier benchmark! Not the RAM... I have had no issues with T1 on anything else.
  10. Disable the CPC (T1), I had same issues with WinXP x64...all memory test ran fine but as soon as I hit the video benchmarks I would start lokking up. CPC Disable fixed it... turned it back on when not benchmarking, no issues.
  11. Just picked up another 2x512 to make it 4x512, same RAM spec's as in sig. For the love of god I can not get more than 2 slots to post. It does not matter which combination of sticks or slots I use... any 2 will post. But as soon as I add a 3rd I get the long beep codes. It doesn't make sense to me, what am I missing?
  12. Why not run 3x 512, leaving the "older" one out... or run 2x 512 switching them in / out with "older one... and also switching around to different slots... see if it's sticks that might be bad or slots that might be bad.
  13. Going to give making a muck-up a go first... 5 hours of software installs and patching already done. Let you know what happens.
  14. Excellent explaination! I was wondering what those extra folders placed on my G: drive was. Now question... think I can get away with just moving them over ? >
  15. ****UPDATE**** Fresh install, works great. I too was worried reading these forums but everything went great... MAKE SURE IF YOU ARE INSTALLING OS ON RAID YOU REMOVE ALL OTHER HDDs TILL AFTER INSTALL Using WinXP x64, just finished putting everything together and worked out numerous problems to get to this point. All in all, everything is workable, but one small thing is bugging me. I set up my 3 Raptors in RAID 0 on the nF4 controller, with my 320G driver taking up the 4th slot on same controller. Partitioned off 20G of the Raid for windows install and left the rest for programs. I now have C: (20G on Raid) F: (188G on raid) and G: (288G single drive by it's self). System seems stable loaded multiple programs, updated windows, everthing is peachy. Now usually once I have everything set, I change my boot up sequence in Bios to only check HDD, set RAID as priority 1 under HDD, and disabled all others in sqequence. Once I did this started getting "NO BOOTABLE DRIVE, PLEASE INSERT DISK AND HIT ENTER" or something of the likes. Now if I set up the boot squence back to CD > HDD > Disabled.... Again same message, BUT if I insert my windows disk I get after CMOS message.... Booting from CD Press any key to boot from CD .......... (takes about 5-10 sec for the '......') Then the box boots up XP x64 from the HDD. So as long as I use my XP disk to get boot loader running? my HDD will boot up fine... can anyone explain?
