  1. I wish it was that simple I already have tryed! it wont run at stock these are the only settings that are semi stable on this board, also I have 3 systems and this ram is fine in my other main rig, in this rig though its Access Violation errors all the way which is a ram timming error i was having bsod's but have upped the vcore and that has stopped,i tweeked the timmings last night and it passed a super PI 1mb at 275 x 11 3.04ghz(its never passed before - 27 seconds (i built a vapo fx57 recently for someone else and they get 24 seconds @ 3.45ghz hehe) unfortunatly go into a game and it says Access Violation etc etc as normal..it does this at any multi it cant be the memory controller because when i run ram at 275 i get 6.6gig bandwith with a 9 multi/7.4gig at 275 x 10and just under 8gig at 275 x 11 so obveously if it is not stable at 275 x 9 even though the bandwith is lower than I normaly run at and the cpu speed is way lower than I normaly run at, then the cpu and memory controller are fine its something to do with the other timmings ...im going to read that long butt thread posted above and hope for a miracle if I cant sort this in the next month im going to bin the lot and start again but this time with parts I no work! ps. other stupid thing is i keep seeing people with huge fsb and only 2.7 ghz which means they are not actually getting there bandwith..i have noticed if you want more than 7.3/4gig bandwith you have to be at 3ghz! which is why even if my machine was stable at 275 x 9 it would be pointless because i would be loosing well over a gig a second! once I can get the ram stable at its rated speed with a low multi then I at least no the system can handle 275 then i can up with volts as I no that the cpu is very happy at 3ghz when ever im at 3ghz it is always ram problems not cpu I HATE COMPUTERS! pcs used to be so simple you build them and they worked! now every pc I have built for other people in the last year including my own have had problems(at stock speeds!) something tells me to many changes have happened in to shorter time and thats why its a lottery ticket now! most the technology we had up to 2 year ago was old and reliable now everything is a brand new tech and holy unreliable! time to go back to basics a dell dare i say it!cant even trust the likes of Asus anymore the industry is becoming a mess.
  2. Nothing there I have not done also the ram is diffrent..did not realise how many pages il carry on reading..I think tommorow i will bump ram to 3v and start all over again at a low multi..i no the cpu can handle 3ghz with my old ram in but have to use divider as that ram is slower!
  3. Hi I have issues trying to get the ram stable at its rated speed  , the system is as is in the sig ..basicaly it will run the settigns in my sig 98%percent of the time with a bsod once a day(pc is on 16 hours a day ), If I try to push ram to 275(using 9/10 Multi..I normaly run with an 11 mutli so i no cpu can take that for sure i.e 10/9) it seems fine on desktop viewing normal stuff i.e websites/email etc but as soon as I play a game I end up looking at the desktop again! I can only play games using below settings I leave all other timmings not mentioned below on default settings, I have looked round the forums for similar or identical ram and have found a few but the settings do not make any diffrence and are very diffrent   so I just give up and go back to what works the majority of the time.(I have never used more than 2.9v dimm so not sure if that is why..I have seen someone else use 3.1v on identical sticks to get them stable at rated speed..im a little reluctant to try that :s I dont want to kill them.(I use rated immings when going to 275 i.e 7-4-4-2.5 and have tryed 8-4-4-2.5 all at T1, chipset is always at stock voltage..cpu I change as needed) There is one thing I am not sure on and that is the psu(I read in another post that aparently a game dropping back to desktop is a sign of a week psu?im not so sure on that because i had a similar problem with last machine but that was fine once I tweeked it at a faster speed so now I dont no...I can tell you the 550watt Aerocool only powers the motherboard and the AGP card so I would assume that was ample!! everything else in the case and outside are powered by the second 450watt Aerocool psu.(I have a Seasonic 600 watta on standby as well if need be but I dont want to rip my gorgous aerocool out! lol Anyway any suggestions would be most welcome..and if I need to right down every setting in bios I will honest I would love nothing more than to spend an entire day getting rsi eye looking at a strobing blue screen because right now I dont care if it takes me 6 months to get this stable as long as it is eventualy! then I can show my mate why AMD rulez! @ Games
  4. maybe the disk was corrupt?or the file you downloaded was corrupt?its a floppy drive...its vey normal for them to not work
  5. Thats funny because I have same problem and dont use that ram and dont run the ram from the 5v rail.. something tells me these boards are not very reliable! everyone is saying corsair is no good(Rubbish)/seasonic(rubbish)/vx...comeon this is unacceptable..I have had enough of this crap I wont be coming here again and will definatly never by another dfi board even the moderators cant make there minds up! I going to have to tell my customer to replace his board because I have wasted a stupid amount of time over the last 4 months trying to get this thing to run! funny it ran fine for 2/3 of those months(after a few teething problems at the beggining..I would rather an average board that works out the box to a board that even after tweeking can do what the hell it likes..it makes any performance advantage(which is debatable) totaly not worth it for the amount of hours and stress! and know I am supposed to accept that the Seasonic psu is to blame...yeah right! Have fun peeps I no I will once I set fire to this f board!
  6. Hi all, Well got her booted but it was a fluke because this has a vapochill attached the case power switch goes to that first once it reaches a min temp of -2 it tells motherboard to boot..I accidentaly hit the boot button on the motherboard itself when the vapochill was trying to tell the board to boot and the machine booted, I then restarted it a few times and it kept getting into windows..WICKED I thought...untill I told the machine to shut down..when I went to start it again it did same thing nothing! so I waited for the Vapochill to get to boot temperature and pressed the motherboard power button and she kicked in so looks like this Seasonic is one of the ones that does not like DFI boards or the other way around...I find it odd because he has been using this machine ALOT over a 4 month period? why would it suddenly start this..from what I have seen on these forums everyone else who had this problem had it from the minute they installed it.....im not going nuts right?lol its late im high and have a huge headache! If it can take this long for the problem to appear I would say all Seasonic/DFI owners should worry! I have read that Seasonic will not replace these so I suppose I will have to tell him to buy another board or power supply! even though they are only 16 weeks old
  7. I dont no I have tryed looking at the main DFI site and through the boards manual and I can not see a single mention of the lights :s...I have hit a wall with this now, trouble is this is not the type of system you can walk into your average pc repair place with as its a full on 4000 pound modded monster they will take one look and think f that! When I take another look at it tommorow I will try using a diffrent pci-e power conector for it and re-seat it again but doubt anything will have changed
  8. Hi all hoping you can help me here..I built a FX57/Vapochill/waterchill/7800 /Corsair 3500ll/ DFI Nforce4 DR with a Seasonic 600 watt psu...the bloke has been using this system fine since December last year..he emailed today saying it would not boot up, I have it over at my place now and for the life of me I can not see what the problem is..I swopped out the ram(its fine)/cpu(its fine)gpu(its fine) and have unplugged and re-plugged all cables and still it wont boot...the dimm led is amber(can not remember if this is normal) when I turn the vapo on it does the norm cools down before telling main motherboard to boot once it tells the board to boot the fans start..uv bulbs come on for about 3/5 seconds(the RED led's on the bottom of the board all light up but the last one reading left to right goes off then back on and off etc which I am pretty sure is not what those lights normaly do also the corsair ram itself has very odd lights on them..the lights on these sticks are generaly balanced i.e similar leds light up on both sticks when I try and boot the bottom stick has say 1 green 1 amber etc other stick is blank(I tryed other ram in his machine and still it wont boot and I tryed all dimm slots with same problem, his ram is fine in my machine)..I have searched the DFI website assuming those red led's are for diagnostics but can not see anything relating to them, the last thing he said he was doing with his pc before this happened was tacking photos off a memory card through his memory card reader..he walked off and when he went back in the room th vapo was still running at -50c but the pc was off? this is giving me a huge headache am hoping someone has some ideas...I have not swopped the power supply out because like I said he has been using it for sometime without a problem also the ram runs on the 3 volt line not the 5...I did unhook the vapo from the power on switch on the board and waited for the vapo to get to a good temp then powered the pc myself pressing power switch many times with no success I can not see it being the psu because as I stated he has used this an awfull lot in the last 3/4months so am wondering if the board itself is a problem?I am at a loss as what to do next everything attached to the board works(I have not swopped the psu out though)
  9. Thats unlucky, the flash was trouble free for me, could be you had some problem with your motherboard drivers..a little corruption..pretty common. But sounds like your sorted know
  10. I have built 2 pc's for other people using that board and both had random bsod's and both said driver not less or equal blah blah, its not the ram and not the graphics it is your settigns in bios! I garantee it!(bios takes some real tweaking to get it stable..do some searches and you will see what I mean), normaly that bsod happens when you overclock and do not apply enough voltage to the component or componets you are pushing, but I have had the same issue with 4 DFI boards ( sli-d, dr-expert, ultra-d) with old and new bios's and at stock speed! in fact I have to go yet again to a customers house to fix his DR-Expert grh! but again it is a case of tweaking the bios so no doubt he will be a happy bunny once more, I have used other DFI boards with no probs staright out of the box even using the same components so in my opinion once the board is stable and overclocked they are by far the better board out there for your own personal use...but have to say from now on I am never using these boards for other peoples pc's only mine its costing me a fortune having to keep going back to customers houses!
  11. Yes he is correct...why on earth would you run single channel anyway
  12. Yeah one min the Temp is reading 28...the next 9 :-s, luckily I have my own probe. All though saying that the bios the board came with(sorry not sure which it was) was way worse at reading the temp it does still fluctuate with this later bios but not any where near as much. As for overclocking with this bios I pass OCCT everytime no problems, one thing I have noticed with this bios its overvolts slightly and alot on the DRAM (set at 2.9 = 2.9/3v), the bios that came with the board undervolted...so keep an eye on your settings if you are going to usse this one.
  13. Hi, I have got that bios and its the first I have used since this board is new..so far so good(I have had the bios a week and pc has been worked VERY hard with no stability problems)..memory dividers are as you say, only problem I have is with the temp sensor which tends to jump all over the place :-s, but as a system builder this is the most stable dfi board I have had, the last 2 systems I built for peeps using the nforce 4-d and -dr have been a complete knightmare!
