  1. I may try a later bios. I dont think the bios upgrade is linked to this, but its another thing to eliminate.
  2. hi, thnx for the sugestions keep them comming. My opty nolonger boots 2.7 anymore :/. the best i can get is 2.6 and that with 1.5v. I may be able to get the voltage lower to say 1.45, I'll have to test more to be sure.
  3. when I use 311 x 9 with divider 166 my Graphics Card doesnt boot. Ifact my GC some times doesn't boot on most o/c settings. I can't boot 2.8 Ghz with 1.55v on the settings that i used to use (1.55v highest I am prepard to go). I think my processer is dieing, all be it, degrading some what. This just suks ^^, i bought this for £350 witch is alot. I didnt mind as it was 2.8Ghz o/c, but if it starts getting lower I will get anoyed lol.
  4. if the processer doesn't like dividers, if u use a 0.5 multi it can ack the same as a divider to some extent. Thats the message I got from reading about it, but i'm not to sure.
  5. I know that usiing 0.5's is frowned opon but there is good reason to use them here and there. It dose what dividers do to some extent, in that it downclocks your ram speed. and i was advised to once by ocztony
  6. do you think I shold try 9.5 multi as it will underclock my ram and us a divider? I'm not to sure about how the 0.5 dividers work, i know the down clock the ram.
  7. hi, I jave been messing arround with diferent settings and I am stable at 2.6Ghz with 1.45 volts. I just cannot get 2.8Ghz anymore with 1.5v . I know this processer never liked multyplyers below 166, and I think I may try my Ballistix's. See if i can get a 1:1 o/c. My ballistix are new from crucial as the las lot were DOA months ago, I never bothered trying the replacement sets. I'll have a serch some time soon for ballistix settings for 280Mhz stable 1:1. I used to run a divider for 2.8Ghz (166)
  8. Hi guys, My PSU blew a few days ago and I promptly RMA'd it and got a new one the next day. A very good RMA service I must say, took just 2-3 days to get a brand new one. The PSU in question is in my sig but I'll type it here anyway. Enermax Liberty 620watts dual rail. I have heard storys of incompatibility issues whith the Expert board, but never had problems with the old one before it blew. Liek I said it managed to keep my CPU at 2.8Ghz with 1.5 volts and a V-modded 7800GTX with 1.6Volts through the core Completly stable and no temp issues. (CPU about 40'c, GC, 34'c) My componants are watercooled with 2x120mm dual rad and another 120mm rad. Temps are not an issue. The GC is nolonger vmodded as I took it of due to the voltage modulators getting alittle to hot lol. When I put the new PSU in, I connected every thing as normal and booted. Everything fine so far. Got into bios and reset it to default then booted into windows. I did this to make sure windows was ok due to the power failer, it was ok so I went bk to bios and loaded up my ram settings only (no o/c yet.). Booted into windows and all was well. Then went bk to bios and booting into windows at 2.5Ghz and all was ok. Then went to bios and loaded my 2.8Ghz o/c from geni (howerver its spelt ) and booted. I keep getting asfar as the windows loading status screan and nothing further. :/ Does this mean that my CUP got damaged by the power fialer or that the PSU cant suport 2.8Ghz (though it should). I'm going to run the usuall tests, memtest, prime etc on serveral settings. default first then go to 2.5 Ghz and seee if that stable. I wish I could remember the voltage 2.5Ghz was ok at lol.
  9. just wanted to try ^^. I was looking for a starting point. I haven't even got the out of there box lol. My last 2 pairs died on arival, could not get them working at all. Was looking for an easy way out as I remember the hard work I put into the dead ones. These I have now are probably dead aswell . I would love to have this setup: 3GHz 1:1 300fsb opty 170 7800GTX 600/1600 vmoded (its @ 550/1350 so far. just working on the core atm 1.528v)
  10. try this, go into your bios and look in advanced chipset settings (I think), anyway, look for a setting call errata 123 and set it to auto. Alot of people get freeze due to this, its for dual core cpus, there is a bug in the cach memory on the chips. Mine has the error and disabling it crashes my pc in games. Its probably on auto anyway, but its worth a try.
  11. Hi, could any1 with Balistix 300MHz and an opty running at 3000MHz give me your settings for mem please. Preferably and opty 170, My system is in sig. looking for 170 @ 3GHz 1:1 300MHz fsb settings. thnx.
  12. Roger_D25 I completely agree. My system is rock but i feel the Expert is being left behind/forgoten about. I shouls of got the none expert.
  13. lol hi tony thnzx for such a quick response. board at work? ^^ I'll give 9.5 ago soon once I prime 2.8 again. these are the settings im running now (from lazyBum) Genie BIOS Settings: FSB Bus Frequency - 280 (his 275) LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio - AUTO CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio - 10 PCI eXpress Frequency - 100Mhz CPU VID StartUp Value - Startup CPU VID Control - 1.500v (his 1.400) CPU VID Special Control - auto (his Above VID * 102.4%) LDT Voltage Control - 1.20v Chip Set Voltage Control - 1.56v DRAM Voltage Control - 2.71v DRAM Configuration Settings: DRAM Frequency Set - 180=RAM/FSB:09/10 Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 3 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 04 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 08 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 3 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 11 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 16 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 03 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 03 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 03 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 3120 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - Auto DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Level 7 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 2 Max Async Latency - 8.0 Nano Seconds DRAM Response Time - Normal Read Preamble Time - 6.0 Nano Seconds IdleCycle Limit - 128 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 04 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(4 Bursts) his are in the (), I change just those for my o/c
  14. WTF!!!! lol my settings are soooo close to yours LazyBum. I changed about 3 things and im typing this message @ 2.8Ghz. I realy dont get it. I was compleatly stable I have screanys to prove it. I play games at realy hight settings for days than out of the blue my pc doesnt start. I leave it alone for a bit, then put your settins in that are not to far off from mine and im back. very strange. I going to prime95 over night tonight and test again. my stettings were: 280-A-10-100-startup-1.5-1.2-1.65-2.71 180-Enable-3-4-8-3-14-16-3-2-2-3-1562-A-Enable <--cant remember the proper value for 1562. It was somthing like that A-0-8-2-8-Normal-6-32-Disabled-16x-04x-disabled(4 bursts) Well thnx for the help. My aime is, once i get the 2.8 primed again, Im going to see how low I can get the voltage. Or I may see if I can get 2.9 as i froze in prime95 when priming. Froze after about 30 mins. Maybe these settings are better for my systen. Even there alittle diferent to mine, they must be very good to alow me back into windows again.
