Had instability problems with different 2x512 sticks. Also had problems with a-data 2x1gb but with L12 wire mod works fine.

For some reason i didn't get any reply so i got 2x1gb adata 400 ram. It didn't work wothout L12 mod at all (only @ 100mhz fsb). Did the L12 mod again and now it seems to work ok. Will probaly get a better cpu (xpm 2400+), this desktop replacement sucks, ~2500 is max...

I'm new here too (and sorry for my good english) but i've been reading posts about al boards for some time because i bought u400al in december but the south bridge didn't work properly and i only sent it back in january and got a brand new agf a couple of days ago. They didn't seem to know what was wrong with the al board either, the seller just said that there was "something wrong with the board" I only mentioned in 1 post about getting agf version and he sent me that one, that was pretty fair imo. Though 3 weeks of waiting is a long time... I have a-data viresta ddr500 samsung tccd 2x512 memory, but they don't seem to like nf2, especially dfi al/agf boards, surprise! I tried suzuna, hellfire and tictac bioses (for infinity) but the only bios that the board worked long enough with to install xp was lp ultra a original bios. And no, i don't have bios savior or spare chip or another board with same chip :tooth: DC seemed to work like sc. I'm not sure if i did the l12 (ah28 to ah30, nothing else for xpm, right?) correctly, that's why i didn't mention it in sig. It still is there. My question: Should i buy 2x512 and hope it works in dc or 1x1gb? I'm not going to waste money on 2x1gb because i don't need that much memory. 2x256 is not enough these days. This is for everyday use. The twinmos memory in sig is not my. Btw, at least here in finland s939 (pcie) is cheaper than nf2, so the whole thing is a waste of money. Maybe i should have selled all this old stuff (cpu, vga, maxtors etc) and used that money for used s939 parts instead of upgrading dead nf2... But i love socket a, i can't just dump it :angel: The reason i bought this crappy board was mounting holes & ide raid... There was many used lp ultra b and infinity boards for sell but they either lack of mouning holes or ide raid. External card costs as much as a board, so... So, which memory should i buy? Is there any chance of working 2x512 dc 1t? I'm not going to overclock, 215-225fsb and ~2500mhz is enough for me. The board works ok with this cheap twinmos @225mhz. I'm asking this because Charlie22911 has obviously had some progress since the 1st post in this thread... OR, can i take for instance hellfire 3eg r3 bios and add support for raid myself? It's the only thing i need from original bios, i have no use for 1g lan, firewire, audio (i was going to start using my good old aureal vortex 2 anyway). Does usb work with lp / infinity bios?
