  1. Holy crap. Nice job OP. I don't have the guts to remove my IHS. I just...nope, can't do it. Lol.
  2. I have 5 Samsungs in my home. I love them and will only buy Samsung.
  3. Interesting question. I have no idea...so why not do a test and tell us your results?
  4. I wouldn't say the Opteron 148 "easily" overclocks to 2.8. I had to tweak mine quite a bit to run stable at 2.82ghz. Pisses me off that so many people can get higher and I'm just barely hanging on at 2.82ghz with 48C full load. Maybe you'll have some good luck though and be able to go higher without high temps like me.
  5. X850XT would destroy the 6800GT any day. Definitely get the ATI. I also highly recommend an Opteron over an Athlon 64. You can overclock the hell out of Opterons, whereas you can only overclock a 3700+ a bit (in comparison).
  6. I just spent a good 30 minutes reading all the reviews on cases from AnandTech. Link here: http://anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2525&p=1 The Antec P180 is mentioned and gets some really nice marks. My Sonata II is also mentioned though (with the air duct included) and gets nearly identical marks on the benchmark tests. Link here: http://anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2525&p=24 Almost looks like it's not even worth upgrading the case (considering I'd have to spend $130 something). The difference in CPU temp is almost negligible. Any other thoughts based on these reviews?
  7. I'm loving my 74gb raptor with a 300gb additional.
  8. A monitor is not "required" to be at any resolution ever. Manufacturers "recommend" specific resolutions because that's the monitor's native and "best looking" resolution. The difference in image quality if you have a 21'' monitor and are running at 1280 x 1024 instead of the native 1600 x 1200 is, in my opinion, noticeable. I don't play games on my 20'' LCD (use my 17'' for my games). If I did play games though, I'd have to run them at 1280 x 1024 because my X800 XT can't handle BF2 at 1600 x 1200 max graphics (I've actually not tried it, but I doubt it'd work, hehe). All I can say is that if I run my 20'' monitor (native resolution is 1600 x 1200) at 1280 x 1024, it looks crappy.
  9. Hey ya'll. I'm looking for a nice case with great cooling abilities. I really like 120mm fans, so at least one of those is a must. I currently have an Antec Sonata II, but it's just not keeping my system as cool as I want it to. I have a Zalman CNPS 9500 which limits me from using the air duct supplied with the case. With that being said, the door side of this new case is an issue. It must have space for the CNPS 9500. The case needs to have at least 1 rear 120mm and 1 front intake fan (size isn't important for the front). Weight doesn't matter (although lighter is preferred because I go to many lan parties). Doesn't need to come with a power supply. Medium sized case is preferred, but not required. Price range is <$150. Thanks for the help!
  10. 8ms response time will be more than adequate for your gaming needs. Bigger monitors only effect image quality if you don't run at their optimal resolution. For instance, a 21'' monitor's optimal resolution is 1600x1200. If you don't run the game at 1600x1200 it isn't going to look very good (if however, your system can handle 1600x1200, it'll look beautiful). If your system can only handle 1280 x 1024 without lagging, I suggest you grab a 19'' monitor.
  11. That is one hell of a sweet watercooling setup. Very nice overclocking too, awesome job!
  12. I called them up. I was on hold for 15 minutes, but they credited me the $18! It arrives today, so I bet you could get it too. Newegg rocks!
  13. What the hell? It just dropped to $199.00? I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN IT YET! GRR. Freakin' newegg took FOREVER to ship it this time. Think I should call them up?
  14. How in the hell are you getting 2.8 at stock volts? Good lord, I can barely manage that at 1.56v. Arg, I feel so helpless.
