  1. You would recommend installing the X2 prior to the flash? Also, any thoughts on my DRAM voltage question? Could this be my problem given the board does not seem to handle the dram voltage properly? My CPU voltage readings changed when I up the voltage on the CPU. Any thoughts?
  2. Does anyone have any additional suggestions? I would really like to upgrade to a X2 processor but can't due to my board booting only with the 3-10-05 bios. Also, any idea why no matter what I set my DRAM voltage to it reads between 2.49-2.53 in bios? I have tried from 2.7 to 2.9 and Smart Guardian or MBM read between 2.49-2.53 as well as the bios.
  3. Bobyjo, could you post your RAM settings? I'm just curious since you also have Corsair ram installed. I'm also open to any other suggestions to get my board flashed to a bios that supports X2 CPU's. Thanks all!
  4. I tried relaxed settings with the newer bios compared to the settings achieved with the 3-10-05 bios. I also bumped the memory voltage up to 2.8 with no success. Thanks for your suggestion Logan. Anyone have any other ideas?
  5. Any additional suggestions before going the new bios chip route?
  6. I also noticed in Smart Guardian that the DRAM voltage reads 2.49-2.51 even when I change in the BIOS to 2.7 or 2.8. The voltage is the same even after the switch to my new Corsair 620W PSU. Any additional thoughts or suggestions? Thanks Bobyjo, I will look into that forum link if all else fails.
  7. I still have no luck with the flash to either 623-3 or 4-6-06 bios. As always the flash back to 3-10 boots up with no problem. I would really need to flash to a newer bios if I decide to upgrade to X2. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't believe 3-10 supports X2 CPU's. Any other suggestions/ideas? BTW, thanks for all the suggestions so far.
  8. Tmod, one question, after the flash with the command specified, do i just shut the PC off to remove power? I believe after the flash it will give you a reboot option only. Thanks
  9. I flashed using both floppy and TMOD CD with no luck and cleared CMOS. I loaded defaults, made minor bios changes like disable onboard audio and reboot with no luck. I don't understand why flashing to any newer bios causes a 3 led no boot and the flash back to 3/10/05 bios works everytime. Please keep the suggestions coming. Thanks
  10. I have tried 623-3 & the latest 4/06 with no success. The memory is in both orange slots. The weird thing is I flash back to the 3-10-05, and the PC boots right up. Any additional thoughts? BTW, thanks Sharp for your suggestions.
  11. I have the 3/10/05 Bios running stable on my machine for a while now. I have attempted to flash the bios on several occasions to a newer bios that have been released with no luck. No matter what newer bios I flash and then load optimized defaults, I always get the 3 red lights with no boot. If I clear CMOS and reflash back to 3/10, everything is fine and running normal. I would leave well enough alone but if I decide to upgrade to a dual core X2 the bios will need to be updated. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  12. I actually have the same problem you do and can't figure out why. I have flashed using TMODS CD with no issues, clear CMOS, set defaults, but my SLI-DR refuses to boot with any bios except the 3/10. I will post if any resolution is found.
  13. You may get enough to at least cut the cost of getting the 7800GT in half! I just sold two 6800 cards on ebay which fetched about $125.00 a piece which I thought was a little on the low end. At least they just about covered the cost of my XFX 7800GT which is a excellent card. Good Luck!
  14. As I previously stated, all at default settings except for DRAM voltage. I have not OC'd yet and have followed the BIOS clear and flash procedures stated by Roadie. Anyone have any ideas on why smart guardian is not reporting the DRAM voltage I manually set in the bios?
