  1. Hello I'm upgrading from my 5 year old 17" gateway crt. It's time to go lcd. I'm giving myself around a $400 budget and I want widescreen. These are the two screens I'm considering now. They are nearly identical, both are 22" widescreen with 2ms response time and both are native resolution 1680 x 1050. As you can see the LG is 30 bucks more expensive and has superior contrast ratio, of 3000:1 wow. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....621391&name=2ms Apparently the samsung is the most controversial monitor ever (read some of its 600+ reviews). Something about samsung manufacturing many different versions around the world to keep up with demand. Some versions are superior to others and its like a lottery, if you get an S class you win. If you get an A or C class you RMA and hope for the S or something. http://www.behardware.com/articles/667-1/s...he-verdict.html hardforum thread on this subject with like 2000 replies; http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1144130 I know many of you have the samsung 226bw and I'd like to hear what you have to say. Can I really go wrong with that LG? I don't think so but maybe I'm wrong. I always like to get perspectives from the people here, you guys know your stuff.
  2. Yes, manual install is the way to go thank you. I'm having difficulty finding the SM Bus in my device manager though. There is no catagory 'unknown device', hidden or not. How do I locate my SMB?
  3. with out the operating system failing (Vista x86)? http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce4_amd_w...ta32_15.00.html I'm sure most of you have encounted this problem, just installed vista and made the mistake of running the 15.00 platform drivers only to reboot and find a nice blue screen. Well I've installed Vista again and I'd like to avoid catastropic failure this time. So whats the secret?
  4. Bump. Same problem here. Perhaps someone who had sucess in installing vista on their raid 0 setup could whip up a quick step-by-step?
  5. Just submitted an application under the name analdisko (don't ask).
  6. I want to get a RAID 0 setup running so I will ultimately be required to get the exact same hard drive I have now. I'm pretty sure about that correct me if I'm wrong. Would the Raptor 74Gb that they have now (called WD740ADFD) be compatible with my late 2005 model which newegg no longer carries?
  7. I've got a stripped screw that I obviously can't get out. This screw is securing my motherboard to my case so now I can't remove the damned thing. Its inserted into one of those standoffs that keeps the mobo elevated and I've tried unscrewing it from back with a pair of pliers but thats pretty much impossible. It isn't even in that tight really, I just can't catch it with any known tools. Anyone ever have this problem? Got any suggestions?
  8. Norwegian, English and French. I can speak enough Swedish and German to have a conversation, although when I try to speak Dutch or Finnish I tend too get laughed at.
  9. It's amazing how smooth this game runs. The boys at Valve sure do know how to code a game...
  10. Yes, yes, yes and yes. I'm not using it by itself. I've got it powered by a 4-pin molex, it's connected to a fan controller too and I also plug the 3-pin in so I can see how fast it's going in ITE smart guardian...
  11. I have my rear 120mm exhaust fan connected to the 3-pin fan head labled 'FAN 2'. Very strange...wtf could be causing this!?
