  1. I woudl get the RMA departments info if I could even get ahold of their tech support. It tells me they are too busy to answer my call.
  2. My system has been down for 2+ weeks now, I've been troubleshooting with many people on this board and determined that my SLI-DR is defective and needs to be replaced. I tried calling the DFI support 2 days ago, their IVR told me they were too busy to answer my call and redirected me to here. I then post a topic asking for RMA info and get nothing except someone telling me to email angrygames. I email him now going on 48 hours ago and absolutely zero response. This is ridiculous, I've tried to be patient and go through all the hoops and I am getting nowhere. I'd appreciate someone helping me, I use this computer for school and work. If I can't get any help then I will just get my motherboards from somewhere else. I am sorry to come off like a prick here, but I am getting very frustrated.
  3. Ok what about the advanced replacement? (IE I put a cc on file to guarantee I send your board back and I get the replacement before I send mine in). I use the ocmputer for school, work and medical purposes.
  4. Also, Does DFI allow the ability to "upgrade" during a RMA, so if I wanted the expert could I pay the difference for that? Also do they offere advanced replacement since I do need this for medical purposes?
  5. I am neeing to process a RMA for mobo per technical support but I lost the information to do it and their phone number says they are too busy to answer my call and to go here. Anyway, does anyone have the email address for the DFI US RMA department? Thank you.
  6. Ok guys here is an update to my situation: I tried another Athlon64 proc and got the same exact problem. So now I have tried a different stick of ram and a different processor and have come to same exact problem. So I assume my board must be dead. If anyone can elaborate on anything else that'd be great otherwise I will be calling DFI tomorrow for an RMA. Again, could it have anything to do with my Antec PSU? I know there were some issues with Antec however it was working for a while so I am doubtful but want to make sure. Thanks guys. Stupid computers!
  7. As I said many times before I cannot get POST or a display, so it is impossible for me to do memtest. I also tested other ram and that didtn clear it up so I am going to try a different proc tonight and see what happens. if it still is a problem then, is it pretty much isolated to the board or could it still have something to do with my antec psu?
  8. anyone please? I really need to get my system back, school and work are counting on it. Thanks.
  9. So even though I have the VX memory that supposedly can handle up to 3.5v and pc4000 @ 2-2-2 timings you think it has died? I don't get any beeps or anything, and the red diagnostic lights flicker on 4 for a second then stay on 3 only. OC's are reset to factory since I have cleared the cmos. It is in a well ventilated watercooled case with a case fan not to far from it, so I am hesitant to think it is a heat issue. I am going to borrow another athlon64 proc tonight and pc3200 memory so I will test that out and see if it acts any different. Any suggestions if it still is a problem?
  10. I appreciate everyone helping out. I really need to find out exactly what is causing this so I can get it fixed ASAP. I will supply as much information as possible to help diagnose it. Thanks.
  11. Thanks for the reply. Here are what the specs were and had been for quite some time. AMD X2 4400 @ 2.75ghz (voltage @ 1.55v max, usually 1.525) OCZ VX Gold @ 250mhz 2-2-2-5 timings, 3.3v So do you think I killed my processor? Is that what the 3 red leds indicate when the 4th one just flickers then stays off? I don't think my ram died because that is made to handle more then I gave it anyway.
  12. Hi guys. I have been reading the forums quite extensively trying to prepare myself before asking a question, however I am not sure if this pertains to the elusive "Cold Boot" problem or not so I will attempt to explain what the problem is and what led up to it. I put together my rig back in October of 2005, here are the specs of my system: DFI SLI-DR AMD 4400+ x2 2x512mb OCZ VX Gold PC4000 BFG 7800gtx 256mb 2x 74gb WD Raptors in Raid0 Antec TruPower 2.0 550w What I read in the forums was DFI boards seem to have an issue with using an Antec PSU. However, the motherboard never indicated an issue with the PSU prior so I am not sure if that is the issue or not and don't really want to spend hundreds of dollars to figure that out. Upon building the system everything worked great. However, a few months later I noticed that when I shut down my computer and then tried to turn it back on the computer would turn on but no display and it didn't seem to pass POST. What I had found out that if I waited 10+ minutes then tried it again it was fine, but then it became 20+ minutes, then 30+ minutes and now just nothing. I did look inside the case and found when I turned on the computer instantly the 3 red leds lit up on my board, and the 4th flashed a few times and stayed off. I should mention I also have been receiving numerous BSOD's prior to the crash saying things like "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO" and "PAGE_REQUEST_IN_NON-PAGED_AREA". I assumed it was a driver issue however I was using XP MCE at the time and installed XP x64 instead with the same exact problem, and obviously 2 totally DIFFERENT drivers for all my hardware. I then also got applications that crashed like IE (intermittently and constantly) as with messenger. After investigating my problem on this board I found the famous cold boot issue. I am inclined to think it is something else however since it worked fine from the get go. I have done the cmos clear article and now I am doing the 24hr so we'll see what happens with this. I am lost to what I should do. I used this computer both for work and school so I would REALLY appreciate anyones help. Thank you very much!
  13. IRQ_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS_THAN... something to that effect is the BSOD I realize lots of things share IRQ's, but one would assume that a graphics card sharing an IRQ with another graphics card would be a problem. Plus the BSOD's were never a problem before this. I am using the SLI-DR board and the only controllable aspect of the IRQ's is reserved or PCI/E. Nothing to specifically control one slot. There is not serial or parallel on the board but I will look to see if there is an option within the BIOS. Any other ideas anyone? Is there some sort of hack I could use or registry edit to force it to use a different IRQ?
  14. Ok so I have the rig listed in my signature there, and recently I added the Haupaugge WINTV PVR-150MCE to my computer and installed WinXP MCE. The problem is that the TV card shares the same IRQ18 as my video card . And unfortunately WinXP thinks this is fine and reports no conflicts which doesn't allow me to change IRQ settings manually. I get the BSOD and freezes constantly when trying to watch tv, and I have tried to change from ACPI to Standard PC which caused me not to be able to boot or get into safe mode at all. I do not have an extra pci slot as it is covered by my radiator so a card cannot fit. I am pulling my hair out trying to fix this and I WISHED the bios would allow manual configuration . Please help me out! I don't know what to do to fix this, reinstalling the OS does not help etc, it always gives it the same IRQ
  15. so does anyone have anything to back that up? I just don't want to start messing with the clocks if that's not the case. I heard it was the 4v jumper before, not sure...
