  1. That's the idea. I'll post again when I get everything working...or if I don't. In any case, thank you all very much for your time.
  2. Aha! Even though they both worked before individually, now one of them won't boot no matter what, not even to BIOS..and come to think of it, both of them did work at first when I built the comp but a minute or so into it, they stopped working together so I pulled one of them. However, consistently now the same chip won't boot the computer, which to me means fried RAM. Does that sound right? I suppose I should send the modules back to OCZ or Newegg.com for a replacement, which should it be ? The only strange thing is..I could have sworn that I was able to run the computer individually on either chip before today, oh well.
  3. The sticker on the ram says 2-3-2-5..but I'm assuming thats probably not the information you are looking for. Is the timing located among the numbers displayed in the startup screen?
  4. Hmm..I tried those BIOS settings, and it will still get to windows with only one of the chips in. But it keeps giving me a beep and not even activating the monitor as soon as I try and boot with both sticks in. Could it be a different setting in BIOS I'm overlooking?
  5. Yes, as far as I know it is a 24 pin Power Supply. Although, 4 of the pins are removable to make it compatible with a 20...But the manual refers to it as a 24. Also, the ram is platinum. Tried all of the different slots. Im waiting for my roommate to wake up before trying your settings that way if I screw up my cursing doesnt wake him up. Hoping for the best, and regardless of the outcome thank you for your speedy reply. Out of curiosity, is this a common problem with this Ram and Mobo setup?
  6. I just earlier this week did the bi-annual upgrade to my computer. After trial and error I have managed to get everything working in it except for the RAM. I have two sticks of OCZ 1 Gigabyte (each) ram, however whenever I have both of them in the mobo at the same time the computer will not post. I just flashed my BIOS with the most current update, and the chips individually can power and run the computer, so in that regards they dont seem corrupt although I have yet to run memtest on either of the sticks. I know a lot about computers for a joe average (I put together my own machine) however I do not know very much about RAM timing, etc. So I have not posted that level of technical information. I honestly believe it is just a setting in BIOS that I have to change, or possibly a jumper on the motherboard that I have to switch. If any further information is required to accurately identify the problem and solution, I will post it as long as you can tell me what information you are seeking. Almost forgot, I don't know if it will help ID the problem, but the computer will only boot to windows if it has a single ram chip in either slots two or four. Thanks for your time.
