I found out that it was my mosfets on the board making these noises, should this be happening, they are buzzing and huming when cpu is on load?
-
OK ive figured out what part of the board is making this noice, it is the three transformers or regulators between the CPU socket and the ide connectors. I have also discovered that it is only really noticeable at a FSB higher than 240Mhz. Now does anyone else notice a rise in noise from these components when running higher than stock FSB, and is it normal or have i just got dodgy components on my BOARD? one last thing it is rather a bussing/huming type of noise than a high pitch one.

i am speaking about a high pitch sound comming from my motherboard when there are NO speakers attatched, as in something ON the board or some component.

Hi all, new here, just put a new system together the other day and im getting these weird high pitch noises when my system is on 100% load. I have a X2 3800+ DFI nf4 SLI-DR and 2x512MB Geil Ultra X DDR. Thing is at stock speeds my system has a very un-noticible high pitch noise but soon as i increase the FSB of the cpu so i get a Core CLock of 2.4Ghz or even 2.2Ghz i start to hear this noise. it souns like a transmission of some sort. First off i thought it could be the onboard speaker getting interference from the BUS's, now im thinking it could be the CPU. Has anyone every had this problem with an sli-dr and this processor? Any help would be great
