  1. Thanks Tmod for helping me. Somtimes i can get in and sometime i can not. Im just really discuorage right now. Im just going to take to the shop. Let them load windows for me and get it going right before i make to big of a mess.
  2. RGone, im not saying my board is defective . Im just saying that i hope that i did not mess it up.
  3. Hey, im not touching anything on the drives, but im looking at my raptor and i see a diagram on top that says slave and master not require for sata and its got some pins with a jumper on it. This is my first build and we have to start somewhere, where did you start. I help my brother build his system but it was not near complicated as this one.
  4. Ok, i went back in hit save and exit and it got rid of the checksum error. Im trying to load windows. I have a 74 gig raptor for O.S and a 160 segat for data. Both are ATA 150. The raptor has pins so you can set it up as salve, master so forth but the segat does not. I have both with cable that came with mb, i have one plug up into sata1 and the other in sata 2. This is on the ports supported by the nForce chip. Do i need these on the ports supported by the Silicon Image.
  5. As i was posting my last thread, i hat the battery out and the CMOS jumped to clear. I let it sit for about 30 minutes like that. I did what you said and it went past the splash screen and to then to a screen that show Phoenix-Award workstation Bios V6.00. At the bottom there is the message CMOS checksum error-Defaults loaded Warning! Now system is in safe mode. Please re-setting CPU frequency in the CMOS setup. On this page it shows my processor as being my dual core processor X2 4400+. Also at the very bottom of this screen it says 06/23/2005-NF- CK804-6A61FD49C-00. Is this the bios version 623
  6. Do i need to RMA my board are take my system to my local shop and have them help me out.
  7. No it is not. It does not stay on all the time. Only when it come up to verifying dmi pool data, backup CMOS ok. thats when it stay on and there is nothing there. I think i screwd this thing up when i tried to flash for the first time. I had the floppy for it, it did its thing but when it came to hit f1 i did not shoot down my rig. i just let it post till it stoped.
  8. I guess i will just take this thing down to my local computer store and see if they can not get it going because i am lost. When i do not go into bios and just let it run through like it was going to boot up it comes to verifying DMI Pool Data and Backup CMOS ok and hangs here, and my floppy light stays on even though there is nothing in it.
  9. I did those steps. I am still haveing the same problems. Will I need to send the board back and have the bios reworked if I screwd it up.
  10. I got the CMOS jumper to clear and im letting it run now. Also I have the Thermaltake Armor case and the front panel for power on and reset. The leds on that do not seem to work at times. Right now there are not working at all, they did for a short time and now the light do not come on when i hit the switch but it does power up. I have followed the manual on hooking up the front panel connections to the mother board and i believe they are in the right spot.
  11. All was working fine untill I decided to flash the bios for my X2. Someone please point me in the right direction.
  12. I had to send back my OZC powerstream so I am temporaly using a Antec Truepower 550W. All I have right now in the bord is 1 stick of ram in the top orange slot near edge. I was able to go into bios and look at all the stuff that was in there. Ran memtest awile and got no erros. So I decided to flash bios for my X2 to 623-3. It did that fine and told me to rmove flopy and hit f1 i think. So after that I shut down and pull the CMOS jumper and battery. I let it sit for awhile and then boot back up with no problems and go into bios and load optimize and with i hit the save and exit, thats where my problems started. It just lock up there. I turned system off and pull battery and jumper. Let it sit and boot back up, can get into bios If i wanted to. Sometime i do not let if go to bios just to see what it says and sometime I get a message checksum error now running in safe mode. I think i messed up the flash. Is there a way I can go back to what the board had origanal and start over. EDIT:It wants me to reset cpu frequecy, but i have to change anything. The only thing that i did was flash my bios. Also when i got into bios and set time and date. Save and exit it locks up. I have to red LEDS on.
  13. Do I leave all of the jumpers on the board in there default posotion?
  14. Come on guys, Im I just missing someting here with all of these wires that come off of the psu.
