  1. I was in the same boat as you. I tried a new motherboard and power supply. It ended up being my cpu. I also had the A64 venice.
  2. Hey Jarrick, You said you had "all 3" power plugs in the board? There are actually 4 spots to plug in power on a Lanparty....
  3. Tried the infinity ultra and still the same. Also tried another PS. I guess I will have to look for a CPU.
  4. Try a new cpu, I am in the same boat. Tried a DFI infinty ultra and another power supply. No good, so now I am looking for a cpu.
  5. I did notice bent pins on one side of the cpu. But they were not bad. I strigtened them but still no go. I have a DFI infinity ultra on order right now. Hopefully that works.
  6. Unfortunately, this was also a no-go. But thanks for the info, I am going to keep trying. If you have an idea of how to check the cpu's ram control and the MB's ram control. Let me know. Thanks.
  7. I will give your advice a try on Monday, I'll let you know how it goes, thank-you.
  8. Yeah, its at 2T. Sorry about takng so long to get back, I've been away.
  9. I have a MAJOR issue. Its probably my own fault. I originally had 2x512mb Samsung ram in my orange slots on my DFI lanparty ultra-d.All was good in the world.... I decided to get 2x1gb samsungs on ebay. I got them in the orange slots now and placed my 2x512mb in the yellow slots. My big issue is that I can't get any decent speed at all. The new DDR400's won't even get to 400mhz. They black out anywhere above 200mhz. Have to clear the CMOS to get the pc back up. When you check out the SPD tab all the RAM modules have the same specs. I have also tried some very loose timings and increasing the voltage but still nothing. I have also tried removing the 2x512's to see if it would make a difference but no good. I tried the 2x1gb in the yellow slots and still no good. I can't get the fsb above 100mhz(2x100=200mhz) at all.I have tried the fsb:dram and still no go. I can downclock easily but even getting to regular clock speed is a huge job . Does anyone have an idea (other then burning the RAM) as to how to even to get to 400mhz on the ram. The cpu overclock I can deal with later. Here's what is on the ram chips themselves: samsung 512mb k4h560838-e TCCC 513 samsung 1GB: k4h510438d-ZCCC 740 Then after I reseated the cpu(applied new grease) and blew out the case for dust the following happened: I can get all of the sticks to work by themselves in the top orange slot but none work in dual channel or in any other slot. I can't see how blowing out the case could do something this drastic. But to make sure it wasn't that I reseated the cpu again and the temps are still fine. I have ran memtest and all sticks are good. I also upgraded to the latest BIOS version. All of the ram seems to o/c well in that one slot. It seems the board may have a toasted slot but I don't know how it could. The big killer is that now I only run single channel at 64bit. Windows xp boot screen actually shows for about 6 seconds now as opposed to just a quick flash before. I have aready noticed degraded performance, Damn what a waste. I have checked the old DFI street forums and there are some similarities to issues others have had but no one seemed to have an answer for any of them. The diagnostic LED's on the board indicate that it has detected vga and is loading BIOS. Thats when it locks up with 2 sticks. Any thoughts?
  10. If I wanted to hook up a 120mm fan (with 7v mod) to my mb, could I? I burned out the headers on my old asus board by hooking up a 60mm delta to the board. Just wondering what the tolerances are for current on the headers. Thanks...
  11. Will I do damage by putting the speeds up but leaving the voltage where I have it now? I seem to be running voltages that many of you guys are running. Now mind you I'm one of those impatient guys that you hate to see . But seriously, I can't get past 229mhz fsb with stability. cpu is at 9.0x fsb 229mhx and I think the ldt was auto and I tried it at 3x. Has problems booting. I've got a venice so it should o/c pretty good. I've tried mem timings but left it currently at 3,3,8,3 with 1 T. The samsung ram has "TCCC" on it, what exactly does that mean? I've read many like UTT,TCCD, etc but never TCCC. Right now I'm at 2.069 Ghz. I'd like to hit 2.2 or 2.4. But with family and work I don't get hours and hours to pick and pick and test. So I'll keep plugging away and maybe get a bigger psu if I want to go that far I guess, it may be my whole problem.
  12. Also check the jumpers on the WD drive, there's a post here that shows issues with WD pata drives.
  13. That may be but I find it pretty good. Besides whats listed I only have 3 80mm case fans. Not a huge drain. But it seems stable at just over 2 ghz so thats not bad without making major changes I guess.
  14. not getting any errors and i'm on 1T timing. Just got a random reboot though after I dropped the voltage a little so I put it back to where it was.
