I actually already have the Vantec CCB-A1C but it barely made a difference. I was hoping the Iceberg or the Evercool VC-CE would lower my temps. Currently I hit 61C at load. Idle is around 52C.

????? right back at ya What's the vantec model that does a better job? The Iceberg? The penguin? The snow cone?

I was wondering which model cooler this was. I see 2 versions for sale at SVC. One has a higher CFM rating. Hopefully that is the one that fits underneath the video card.

Reading through some other posts on these forums people had recommended the cooler I used. Also please note that some people seem to have chipsets that are cooler than mine right out of the box. I'm comparing similar setups too. If there is a better hsf cooler tell me. I'm not afraid of grinding, welding, epoxying whatever I have to do get this chipset under control. Then I'll throw a little more voltage at it.

I'd just like to throw in my own 2 cents on this one. I have a SLI-DR board and the chipset usually idles around 48C and hits 59C under load. This is after I replaced the stock cooler with a Vantec cooler CCB-A1C. My temps post mod were about 3C higher. Too me changing the cooler was not worth it. The stock cooler wasn't loud and the difference is neglible. I'd love too know how anyone else is getting lower temps than me. Hanging a fan with zip ties is not acceptable.

By offset I believe he means the difference between the 2 programs temp readings. Software temp monitors are mediocre at best.

I've gotten the same message a couple of times. For me it was caused by incorrect jumper settings on my HD's or incorrect boot disk selection in the bios. I think some of the other guys may have suggested the same thing. The western digital is probably set as cable select. Try changing it too slave. I would bet that it has nothing to do with a software problem. P.S. when I had the problem I didn't actually remember changing anything to cause it. I guess I did though.

So far today I've only one website timeout on me. Looks like I may be in the clear. I'd like too thank everyone for their suggestions. Once again Dfi Street proves to be an invaluable resource. What a great community.

I'm such an idiot. I forgot that the current 2 dns addresses can be found in my internet settings. I plugged those in my configuration page and it seems to have helped. I still not ready to call this one solved yet. I'm going to give it another day or so and see how it's behaving.

Well I tried pinging the above mentioned places and... The only one with timeout's after 10 mins was my service providers website. Pinging a local pc worked fine and pinging my cable modem worked fine. I called my cable company to see if they have a dns address I could input instead of auto obtaining a DNS address and they said they don't do that. I'm at a complete loss. I've attached a screenshot of the nslookup for google.com It shows an error but I'm not sure if it's an issue.

It's not spyware or a virus. I performed a wipe (wrote 0's to the drives twice) then reinstalled. My network is setup as follows. Motorola sb5100 Cable modem connected to a Linksys RTP300 voip phone router. My main pc is connected to the Linksys. My living room pc is connected to a Netgear router which is connected to the Linksys. System restore and several other useless services and startup items are disabled. I actively refuse to use the Marvell LAN due to the hair pulling experience it put me through when I first got the motherboard. Could be the cable modem... I've tried going direct to the cable modem and had the same issues. Checking the cable modem status I showed good signal strength. Ping time for my ISP was 26ms. I just figured it would be something with the office pc since it's the only one that has this issue.

It's been quite a while said I had any issues with my rig. Lately whenever I try to go to a website it will timeout the first time. Repeated attempts get me there. Usually 2 times will do it sometimes 3. I'm using the Nvidia Lan as the Marvell was causing me issues. No problems with corrupted downloads. I'm using Norton Internet security and windows firewall is turned off. Nvidia firewall is not installed. I primarily use Mozilla Firefox but it happens with IE also. I've tried no firewall and messed with some of the LAN settings. No help. Using the Marvell LAN is just not an option. It isn't just one site in particular. Going to the forums took to tries. Seems to me like it could be a setting somewhere that could use a tweak. I'm just not sure where. Any suggestions?

Did you reinstall windows yet? You should have after raising the mem voltage. I suspect your system files are corrupted by running at a lower voltage. You should also disable Marvell LAN. I found that fixed some problems with freezes I had. Make sure you don't install Nvidia Firewall and Realtek drivers and you won't be installing Marvell drivers if you disable that LAN in the bios. Cool glad too hear it. I was about to throw in the towel until someone suggested that to me. I guess DFI boards like to feed RAM volts. I love my board now.
