  1. so 3dmark05 kept crashing on me. Not sure exactly why so I picked up 3dmark03 and ran those tests: Here are the numbers: Stock settings: 6300 CPU1 113.2 CPU2 18.7 OCed to 2.5 with 180 divider 2.5-3-2-5 timing 2.7 volts 6506 CPU1 134.8 CPU2 22.0 OCed to 2.5 with 166 divider 2-2-2-5 timing 2.7 volts 6522 CPU1 132.8 CPU2 21.5 My process was 3x all tests after fresh reboot for each setting. The interesting result is the 166 divider provided more overall performance due to the improved memory timing eventhough it had a minor impact on CPU test performance. So, my conclusion is keep the memory timing as tight as possible with a lower memory divider to yield better results(in my system). Though going belwo the 166 divider will only hurt since I can already run the 2-2-2-5 timing
  2. So, after my rig crashed during running 3DMark05 due to GPU temps I decided to buy a watercooling setup. I'm currently running the Evercool WC-202 on only my GPU. I had to go ahead and create a custom bracket to hold the second radiator onto my 120mm fan(since I cutout the 80mm mount bracket) So far I've run 5x all 3DMark05 test with no temps over 40 degrees Once it's stable for a 20x run I'll be happy. But so far, so good. Once this is done, I'm going to run 3DMark 05 on different ram divider and timing settings at the same FSB to see how the different memory settings affect gaming... more to come...
  3. yes yes I saw those. Did you look at the price/amps/wattage consumption. Ouch! I'm going for the EFB1212SHE 4.0~13.2VDC 0.80a 9.60w 141.96 CFM 52.5 dB 3700 Yes Yes at 16.95 I can't justify the jump to: TFB1212GHE 7.0~13.2 VDC 2.45a 29.40w 220.01 CFM 65.0 dB 4600 Yes Yes 20 more watts, almost 2 more amps for 80cfm and $13 more..... It's supreme overkill
  4. I'm a freak and love fan noise. Therefore the Delta crazy high performance fans are for me. I want to pikc up three of them and so far I've only found them for as low as $16 each. Does anyone know a good place to buy these fans? Thanks!!
  5. I've done of mods on all types of things(PCs, my truck, my motorcycle, a vacuum cleaner, etc...) and anything can look that clean if you are paitent and know a few tricks. For instance, modding doesn't ome out clean you need to polish it up once you are done to make it look that good. I've done many mods and the only ones I've spent tons and tons of time on are on my motorcycle. I spent 30 minutes aligning my exhuast system until I was happy. I've spent endless hours cleaning and using dremel tools to get the exact look I want. It all comes down to having the right tools, being very anal, and being very paitent. My newest system is undergoing mods and has been down for 2 weeks during the work. I spent 4 hours cutting out the fan grills to ensure they were smooth, even, and has a brushed edge accent. I'll be posting up pics of the mod in a few weeks. This guy spent some money but I personally don't like the clutter. Anyone here could do the same thing, they just need to have time to do it and not have to worry about having a pc down for up to a month.
  6. yeah it's square.... but why can we just cutout the square and mount the fan? Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work?
  7. yeah, from what this mod says I'd just pick up a Thermalright NB-1 from newegg.com for 13.99 + 4.99 shipping and get the stronger delta fan. Linky: http://www.newegg.com/product/Product.asp?...t+Cooler+W/+Fan
  8. looks like thermaltake did make one as well but it seems it was discontinued... Fan Dimension 45x45x10mm Rated Voltage 12V DC Air Flow CFM 11.35 Rated Speed 5400rpm Noise Level 28dba Colour SILVER Bearing Type Sleeve
  9. I've looked over the mod, good idea but we cna do better The vantec uses a Bearing: Ball Speed: 5500RPM Air Flow 8.6CFM Noise Level 30dBA 45x45x10mm fan if you get the Thermalright nb-1 you also get a 45x45x10mm fan but this time it's made by delta with these stats: Bearing: Dual Ball Bearing System Speed: 6000 rpm Air Flow: 11.80 CFM Noise Level: 34dBA 4 more dBA but you get more cooling: Fan is Maker: DELTA Model: AFB04512HA I'll keep looking for better fans but this might be the best you can get your hands on
  10. 1T = tighter timings. What you need to do it read the OCing guide. Here's the summary of what to do: Find CPU max speed (Ram divider to lowest setting, some other setting to 3, CPU mult to max(10X for 3800+) then up FSB and CPU voltage(as needed to obtain maximum speed) Find RAM max speed(Ram divider to 200, some other setting stays at 3, CPU mult to 2.5x, leave CPU voltage at setting you used to find max CPU speed, then FSB up and RAM voltage up/down until you max out ram. Study up more on ram to understand all the settings you should modify.
  11. hmmm, about that 1/2 tubing... Only running 3/8... I know I can get an adpater if needed though, could you post the website where you bought it from? thanks!!
  12. Thank you!!! Luckily my best friend is German, so he can give me hand with the shipping process. Anymore?
  13. Since I'm installing a watercooling system that will not be used on my CPU, I figure I'll hook it up to the GPU, NB chipset and maybe HD's. But to do this I need to find a DFI NF4 waterblock. Since my MSI 6600gt is directly over the NB chipset, I know it probably needs to be custom.... So, the only one I've found is the Lunaforce L4E which is outside of the US and might be hard to get my hands on. Are there any other watercooling options? I know of the fan mod, and of the passive cooling mod, but I'd like to use watercooling if at all possible... any ideas??? Thanks!!
