  1. Whattup Fu, Sounds like we are having similar problems. I just went through some cpu booting problems that started appearing after about 6 months of owning an NF4 SLIDR. After trying a Asus A8n32 SLI D and now a DFI Expert SLIDR, I was able to determine that my cpu had gone bad. But I'm not convinced that's the entire problem because with a new 3800 in my system, I am still having some bootup problems, but not as severe as before. I noticed that you and I are using OCZ RAM as well as the same Antec II SLI power supply. I also discovered that using my expert, I cannot put both dims in the yellow slots; receive a post error. At this point, I suspect my OCZ and/or Powersupply. As you already know (from our LANS), I have alot of stuff in my case and that 550 ps may be at it's max.
  2. I have two bfg7800gts. Lately My system is overclocked but vcards are not. IN the last couple of weeks I have been having the following issues: When booting, screen goes black after the XP boot screen. I have to reboot several times in order to get to the windows login prompt. 3dmark06 scores have decrease dramatically in SLI. I am starting to have some game instabilities in Quake4, Simcity and others; graphic bleeding, lockups, etc... I tried running both cards separately, with only one in the case. 3dmark and aquamark scores are identical. changed power leads; scores are still the same. At this point I think I have ruled out the video cards, so I am trying to figure out if it's the motherboard or power supply. Any thoughts?
  3. It really depends on your purpose. SCSI's main benefit is the ability to serve simultaneous I/O requests managed by the controller/chip. This is why they are a must have for servers. SCSI also works very well with multi-thread applications and processors. For gaming and most desktop uses, the cost is just not worth it.
  4. Trevor, the matrix is not perfect. Seriously, sounds like your board is toast -CMOS chip that is.
  5. To echo prevsious comment, I would verify your BIOS version. It should read 623. Here are some other things to try: Clear BIOS, try optimized defaults. If overclocked, go default clock speeds. Check Powersupply by switching leads to single card. Also try a powersupply tester. Verify that each card works independently.
  6. Used this board for 2 weeks, then wife bought me second 7800GT, so I upgraded to the SLI version. Board in New condition, cables still in wrap. All documentation and accessories included. will Sell for $100.00. Shipping $15.
  7. I'm running same board, same BIOS and CPU version, and my BF2 is Liquidy smooth. Have you tried running benchmarks to help identify symptoms?
  8. Sounds like the same problem I was having with my Maxtor 250 sATA. Try going to the SATA controller hosting the Maxtor, and disable Command Queuing. That fixed the problem for me. I'm am curious to know what impact that disabling this has.
  9. I disabled NCQ on my Maxtor sATA drive and that fixed this horrible problem.
  10. I disabled Command queuing on my Maxtor drive, fixed the problem.
  11. I'm using the same memory. I use the default timings at 200 speeds, but bump the voltage up to 2.8. I have 100% stability after upping the voltage.
  12. My rig is only two weeks old. motherboard, Cpu, RAM, Video are upgrades from old setup. Here's what I have in addition to stuff in sig: 2xDVDRW 6 80mm ledfans 1 120mm fan floppy usb mouse 2 UV lights I should also mention that I don't have all four power connectors used. i am using the standard 24pin and 4 pin connections. Haven't had problems until now, so I thought I was ok. Seems to be worsening with each boot attempt. Thx in advance guys.
  13. I'm having the same problem. boot times are very long, but system is 100% stable in windows.
  14. I had this same problem. move audigy2ZS to bottom slot and it works. Don't understand because the slot in 'question' works fine with other pci cards.
