Hi, I'm new to these forums, but have been browsing through the posts within the last few days. I've been reading and doing some research because I am about to build my first computer. This new PC will be mainly used for school work, video games, movies, internet, etc. I'm not really going to overclock. I have a really tight budget. Oh, btw I live in South Africa, so its very difficult to get high quality components, being a third world country and all. The only memory brands that are easily available are Samsung, Transcend, Apacer, Corsair (VERY EXPENSIVE)
I'm really interested in the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR purely for its layout and looks, and the cool UV Reactive Features.
So this is what i can get:
DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR
AMD Athlon64 3200+ Venice Core
Thermaltake 420W PSU
Thermaltake Venus 12 K8 CPU Cooler
Transcend 2x 512MB DDR400
MSI GeForce 6600GT 128MB PCI-Ex
SoundBlaster Audigy 1 (My current sound card)
80GB Seagate SATA
80GB Seagate PATA
LG DVD±RW Dual Layer
BeanTech BT84 Perspex Case
So basically i need know if this setup will work and will it be stable enough for everyday use.
Does anyone have any advice on this?
Oh, By the way, i will disable any unused features in the BIOS such as firewire, RAID, On-board sound, etc.
