  1. I have been using this PSU for about 6 weeks now...see sig for system specs I have what seems to be an odd issue..when I attach a cable with 3 4pin molex to my sunbeam fan controller, one to 1655 dvdrw and SH-S183L dvdrw sata drive using a adapter(or when i had my H22N dvdrw which is IDE)..I could not always boot...it would get to detecting IDE drive and hang.... if I unconnected the Benq...everything was fine I went ahead and used a direct SATA connector for the SATA drive...goes directly to the PSU now But it seems using all 3 of the 4 pin molex ...caused an issue..using just 2 of the 4 pins was fine...one to fan controller and to one of dvdrws(either the Benq or H22N)..but if all 3 molexes were used I could not always boot could it be a bad modular cable.... a bad psu?? BTW...prior to RMA my first RD600...I was 20 hrs blend stable on P95 with the setup below(I stopped P95..there were no failures) and using the cable with all 3 molexes in use( I booted ok that time)..so I figure the PSU has no issues being stressed....
  2. I do not think so as people use AS ceramique on cpu's all the time..there is no epoxy in it
  3. I have noticed on the SLI DR if I set everything to auto on vcore except the startup vcore to 1.55...I get a higher vcore...auto everything usually in the bios is 1.33..auto everything except startup vcore..I get 1.38 in the bios My 170 0550 vpmw will run xp at 2800 at stock vcore but I have to run a very low divider for prime 95(ie 100 divider)...my chip runs very hot...idles with BT at 37/38C I was able to run 10hrs of large fft with 2700 and ram at 225(Gskill ddr 500) and max load temps hit like 48C interestingly last I ran at 2800 with ram at 254(9/10 divider) ...cant recall now the vcore 1.4v...encoded for 10min which would die in Prime95..yet it was at 100% load on both cores with temps at 51C
  4. wow..sorry the thread asks about overclock speeds but I think it is important for people to know if there is an issue Mind you I am not blaming the ram per se but MY combo of hardware stuff I have run mine at 260 mhz for 4.5 hrs blend dual prime95..I stopped for other testing Opty 170 DFI SLI-DR BIOS 704-2BTA FSB - 260 LDT - x3 CPU/FSB Ratio - 10x Vcore - 1.375 X 104% LDTv - 1.30 CHPv - 1.6 vDIMM - 2.6 DRAM Frequency Set - 200 (DRAM/FSB:1:1) Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 3.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 04 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 08 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 03 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 07 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 13 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 02Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 02 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 03 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 3684 Cycles DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - weak4 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 3 Max Async Latency - 8.0ns DRAM Response Time - Normal Read Preamble Time - 5.0ns IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - enable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 07 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable
  5. what batch number ..ie last 3 numbers on third line
  6. that is normal since the post screen is based on divider, ie 1:1= DDR400 so eve nif you run 260mhz like me @ 1:1 it says DDR 400..your fine Dng29...last night I moved my ram back to yellow slots always worked better and 2 cold boots with no issues..no clod boot(no warm boot issues either ..ie after enter bios and rebooting) BTW I have found OCing too much even if stable can sometines give boot issues
  7. my cold boot issue...turn on PC..It will post top line of Bios...AWARD BLAH, BLAH and either hang or reboot.. if I get to cpu ID and ram amount..I boot and run fine My ram has blend for 4.5hrs at 2600/260 ram 2.6v 3-4-3-8-1t...I stopped it to test other settings I personally think it has to do with 704-2BTA bios and my mobo
  8. so you are using the stock 623 bios?..never flashed? -1 ..works with almost all ram -2 better for BH5 ram?? -3 works great with TCCD/TCC5 hmm..I may flash to 623-1 and seewhat happens thanks BTW not only sweet ram but very nice cpu..2850 wow also are you uisng the orange or yellow slots?
  9. what bios...623 -1, -2 -3...does not look like you are running 704-2BTA based on using level7 vs weak 4 very nice ram you have..congrats
  10. very nice mine are 0603 as well but it seems 260(maybe 265) are the max you are first or 2nd that hit 270+ on 0603
  11. are your chips 06XX on serial ..that is first 4 numbers?? what bios and settings if you would please Right now I am running 265 3-4-4-8@ 2.6v and will run Prime 95..quick test on memtest86 1.65 threw no errors in test 5( as very quick screen)
  12. OK...I am still running 704-2BTA, do not want to flash again right now running 170@2600 1.43v in bios and 1:1 ram @2.6v ram 260 3-4-3-8-1t used Gskill tech setup, wk 4 level3 now if I boot cold this am...bios posted on screen no nothing else, reset, posted and booted= cold boot?? also had a warm reboot issue coming out of bios setup.... what I did was set startup vcore to 1.55v from 1.5v ... this may help, also noted if ram was at vdimm 2.7v less issues with a warm reboot 2600@1:1 is very nice but I have a nice new 170 0550 VPMW sitting in retail box waiting for TT BT to arrive as my SI120 is not working as well as removing it a few times.... I hope to hit 2800 but this presents some issues as will not be able to get ram even to a stock speed unless I use 9x vs 10x....so this ram purcahase was kinda a waste..since I have some crucial valueram that will do these speeds..oh well FWIW my 170 0546 XPMW will do [email protected] hrs small and large dual Prime 95 but since my SI120 is no longer keeping temps same underload the cpu is getting over 50C and heat is now a factor...2 weeks the SI120 max temp with cpu at [email protected] was 49C after 15hrs of dual prime..have screenshots to prove it...but now temps hit mid 50S and it craps out whe ni removed my SI120 today and reseated, I had placed a very thin layer of AS5 across cpu and found the good part of the center of HS had no AS5 meaning there was no contact with the IHS over part of the core!!!!! anyway, reseated and used dab in center method and temps quickly hit 49/50C again and just stopped prime95 no reason to see temps cont skyrocketing rise so backed down to 2600/260 on the ram
