Yeah i have read it and got that far with the settings but just unsure if its ok to just up the FSB until it becomes unstable :confused:

Hi guys Im currently running an opteron 144 at stock speed 1.8....Ive heard this chip can reach 2.7 without problems and with the stock cooler...so instead of me buying a new chip ill probably give this a go first My steup is as follows DFI LANPARTY ULTRA D - Evercool chipset fan OPTERON 144 CHIP - freezer 64 pro cooler HYPER 530WATT PSU CRUCIAL 2GIG RAM - http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?QuickLinx=3PYD 7800GT + 6600GT Id like to reach 2.5 with this chip if possible The current settings in the bios ive got are: FSB Bus Frq = 240 LDT/FSB Frq = x3 cpu / FSB freq = x9 Dram freq set = 133=RAM / FSB: 02/03 CPU Vid control = 1.45v Am i right in thinking from the above settings i can just keep upping the FSB ontil it becomes unstable? Or do i need to adjust other things like divider .etc .etc...or will just upping the FSB be ok? Sorry this is my first overclock and have not a clue Any help would be great Also my current Bios settings are as below....is there anything in there that could be changed for a better overall system?

Hi guys Ive got an opteron 144 and was going to get a better CPU but ive heard this could be overclocked to 2.7 easily with the stock cooler. My setups as follows: Dfi ultra d Opteron 144 Crucial ram ->http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?QuickLinx=3PYD 370watt enermax psu Ive started to overclock it using the following settings in the bios everything else is default: FSB Bus Frq = 277 LDT/FSB Frq = x3 cpu / FSB freq = x9 Dram freq set = 133=RAM / FSB: 02/03 CPU Vid control = 1.45v But the problem I've got is i cant get it to boot it gets to the point backing up the cmos and then it restarts and keeps looping :confused: Any help on the above set-up would be much appreciated to get it to 2.7 or even 2.5 Thanks alot
