  1. Sad to hear that... Looks like both of mine gave up. Update: I tried a voodoo banshee and it posted!!! I loaded optimized defaults, it continued to boot. I then shut down and installed my 7800GT. No go. Seems like my PCI-E slots are dead.
  2. I have tried it with my brothers 7800GTX, no go, I don't think its my CPU, it was working great before, and its water cooled, so nothing has changed around it. Hmm well I'll send an RMA request right away. I appreciate the help Sharp, and Rgone. Thanks.
  3. Oh I was only looking for the larger molex. Whoops sorry. I connected it to the board, I still hear the beep but nothing on the screen, the screen doesn't even seem to get a signal. The system will remain on, the first LED is still lit, but after a say 10-15 seconds it turns off, and the system will remain on. Remember I've also tried a PCI 2mb card, with a 2nd monitor too (VGA) and it boots, but the screen turns on, but is blank, and the system keeps restarting.
  4. I can try my ram in the yellow slot... It got the exact same results: - I hear the system beep once, but nothing appears on the screen with my 7800gt.
  5. Okay here goes: I did eveything you specified. When holding down the insert key the board kept rebooting, then it stopped and beeped. I pressed Delete and I am in the bios... But nothing on the screen appeared. I know this since I was able to press "esc then Y and enter" and then the system restarted itself. So I tried it again, it beeped, and I followed and tried to do it blinded by following this. So I went Right, Down, Down, Enter, Y, Enter. Nothing happened... and now I can't get it to beep anymore either. So it seems like my PCI-E is busted now. Okay so I just tried the same thing with a PCI 2mb card. My LCD turns on this time but I just see a blank screen, I hold insert, I then hear the beep, press delete, but the system keeps restarting, and then I hear single beep, pc restarts again, and does this over and over. I have tried this in different PCI slots now, and still no go. Now I am really fed up with this. Honestly what harm can using my motherboard to test a 6800GT PCI-E card? Then to swap mine back in? Resulting in my displaying abilities hindered? Anything is would be appreciated, esecially an RMA, but now I have to shell out my lack of cash already to ship this thing. Update: I tried to unplugg all my drives and just do a bare boot. Now it goes Beeeeeeeeeeeeep, beep beep. So 1 long beep with 2 short beeps, with the PCI 2mb card. 2nd: I tried it back with my 7800 GT and atleast it beeps now. I went through the bios blinded, and this time I went Down 9 times, Enter, Y, Enter, the I think I forgot to save it the first time I tried it, so I then went Down 3 times, Y, Enter. The system restarted, but still nothing on the screen. I think the board is messed up now.
  6.  These are the 2 emotions I just went through after reading that. Well I hope it will work, I was going to try the 30 min, but instead of jinxing anything I'm letting it go over 12+ hours for the clearing. I'll keep you updated, thanks Rgone.
  7. Okay I'll let it clear over night, and try it in the morning. Yeah the top right and bottom left are the correct corners I would think, since there is a larger gaps at both of these corners. I might try filing it if I still need to try a hot flash. Do you think a hot flash would be in order if this doesn't work? Thanks a lot Rgone... Darryl
  8. Hi, I just got this board brand new from RMA, my marvell nic died on me, so I got it RMA'ed. This board is maybe 1 month old now, and out of warranty from my distributor. (1yr) Anyways I went to test a 6800GT in my computer to build my sister a computer. For some reason it only works in the 2nd PCI-Express slot. So it booted, and then the bios screen seemed to look all messed up. I rebooted, and it was fine. I powered off the system, then I went to plug in my 7800GT and nothing, I hear the beep for the boot, but the 1 LED still stays lit, and nothing else happens. It says VGA detected in the manual for it, but thats it. I have tried a working 7800GTX, and got the same thing. I even tried the 6800 that started this dilemma and in both slots, which didn't work. I also tried my 7800GT in both slots. Yes I am connecting my PCI-E power to the video card, and I have tried another power for it. I used 2 different molex chains to a PCI-E adapter and it still didn't work. The only solution I can think of is to try a hot flash. I am having a hard enough time to get the bios chip out. I have the IC BIOS remover from my Ultra D, which works like .. It doesn't even grab at it. I have to find this curved tools, but I haven't seen them in over a year. I have tried to clear the CMOS, Safeboot, moving the speaker jumper around, nothing. The board worked flawless up until this happened. The only thing I've done was clean out my computer, and move the cords in a neater fashion, but I am totally clueless what has happened here. Thanks Darryl
  9. Wow, what can I say to add to this. Well I moved back home, got my computer connected, went to try out a new LCD and keyboard I had bought recently... Windows got blue screens of death, which I've never seen on my computer before. So anyways I decided to screw the blue screen and format and install Windows XP Pro SP2. So I format everything goes without a hitch, and then I go to install my Marvell Driver from the CD, and OH, it doesn't show it when I click the network button on the cd. YES I HAVE IT ENABLED IN THE BIOS. My nVIDIA works fine, but I am picky and I don't want anything defective on my motherboard. So I am planning to RMA it. I have the network LED blinking, when there is a connection, but thats it, windows doesn't detect it, and I've tried manually installing the drivers, which does absolutely nothing. Here is the screen shot, as you can see there is NO Marvell install button displayed. I suppose I will use the computer for a few days before RMA'ing it. My specs are in my signature, and I have tried going to default settings for the bios as well, meaning I am running everything at stock. Shouting is rude! ExRoadie I only made it big since everyone would ask that question. I made sure all the elderly people could see, but thanks for editing it for me ExRoadie.
  10. Okay I've read through a few threads and haven't found a similar issue. Well here goes: I had gotten the card from a friend, and installed it with the device manager work around, and then my front speakers were not working at all. So I have tried installing and re installing, nothing worked, so I pulled the card out, and put in a card I knew worked which was another identical Audigy2 ZS card. It worked flawless, I had my Hi-Fi sound back, and sounded great. That is for a day or two, then it does the exact same thing as the other sound card did. So I'm like WTF?!?! And now even my centre channel doesn't work either. I have no idea whats going on. I can't explain it, maybe its something with Windows XP? I have all the latest updates, downloaded the latest updates from the creative website, I might even try those 2005 beta drivers if nothing works, my new drivers were from Jan 06, and they worked, then they didn't. I've tried the original drivers on the CD, and that hasn't worked either. I've only had this problem with the Audigy 2 ZS, and my DFI LP NF4 SLI-DR, and now my Expert board has the same results... So could it have been the 2 mobo's or the 2 cards? I know for a fact the other card worked fine in my friends computer before I took it. What I've Tried: 1- I have disabled the onboard sound in the bios, but the Audio unit is still attached to the motherboard. 2- I uninstalled the Realtek Sound Drivers before I installed the card, and never installed the nVIDIA sound drivers. 3- The card is placed on my 2nd last PCI slot, I had the card on it way before on the bottom PCI, and it didn't work, it wouldn't even update drivers manually. 4- I have tried the THX Setup Console and changing from Digital to Analog, but that doesn't work, but it helped before when my rear speakers had different volumes, and even when the rears were set to equal percentage within the Surround Mixer. Questions: 1- Now why did it work when I switched the cards, and then start doing the same thing as the other card? 2- How can I fix this? I don't really want to format, but I will eventually. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thank you, DarrylD
  11. Yeah that has happened to me, I downloaded the newest drivers, and specified them in the device manager, and it worked great.... That is for about a day or two  I had gotten the card from a friend, and installed it with the device manager work around, and then my front speakers were not working at all. So I tried installing and re installing, nothing worked, so I pulled the card out, and put in a card I knew worked which was another identical Audigy2 ZS card. 12. Its been running, I just tried to test a 6800 GT PCI-E card I purchased, and and so far its either the video card or a compatibility issue I think, but the person said they were using an Ultra-D with the video card, and pulled it up when they upgraded to an X1800.
  13. It stops on the 1 LED, would that not mean its the Video? I tested it in another SLI-DR Expert board, and got the same results. Also both systems are using Corsair 3200 CL2 v1.1 Ram. (Thats the only DDR we got, 4 sticks of 512mb) My friend said there could be a problem with the SLI-DR, or the Expert I forget which one. I cannot get into bios, the pc doesn't post at all, but I can use the Numlock key fine.
