Received my X2 3800+ yesterday thanks

Sorry about all the mix up just wanted to be sure of which cpu i wanted. Finally decided the X2 3800 will be the better option! Also what is that software thing?

Yeah it was me, but i am still unsure which chip i should go for Thinking of going for a X2 3800+ and learn how to overclock the cpus or just buy the 4200 and leave it at stock! Which would you recommend

You could help with putting your computer spec in your sig! Also is your PSU a 20 or 24 pin?

You need a 24 pin connector otherwise your just going to attract unwanted problems

Firstly make a sig of your comp spec. I had this problem where it would freeze on the logo screen. All i did was to boot with one stick memoery stick and cleared the CMOS. Someone recommended to clear the CMOS for an hour but that didnt work for me so i cleared it for a good half day and magically it booted okay. So i went straight to the bios and loaded the optimised settings

I used the PSU that come with my case too and it caused my system to power up but no post. Have sinced changed the PSU to the OCZ 520 powerstream and it works a treat.

You would have to change the PSU, go for one like OCZ 520w Powerstream. Expensive it is but it should solve your problems. I used a cheap 20 pin PSU and everything powered up but there was no post. Changed the PSU and everything was working ok.

I used a cheap PSU with my set up and it caused the system to post but without any signal on the screen. I have since upgraded this to a OZC 520 powerstream and everything works ok. I would recommend you to upgrade the PSU. Also the OZC 520 Powerstream looks very nice with a good finish

I am using the usb ports on the motherboard and not the case. Will try updating the drivers tonight and see what happens. To be honest, is it that important to install SP2?

Also, i have heard that installing SP2 will slow down your torrents due to the prioirities set to p2p, making them low priority etc.
