  1. I use a regular Samsung 957DF VGA CRT monitor. No luck so far. My computer works fine with the 6600GT from POV. Boots every time. So I am waiting for my 6800GT card to return from RMA.
  2. RGone and Angry> Are we making some kind of human error or is there an issue between the motherboard/chipset and the videocard? Can you confirm? The last piece of evidence I can figure to show that I am not doing something wrong, is to try the Leadtek 6800GT in another motherboard with a different chipset. But that is easier said than done. So now we are all holding our breath until ozandangel returns.
  3. So the Turbo 510 Sli is not enough juice? I should get a OCZ powerstream I presume? Yeah I know what the leds mean and all of us hard working DFI NF4 "no boot" owners have connected the 4x power and PCI-E graphics power too. So please stop talking about PSU and memory all the time...that is not the issue here. I am kind of tired saying to people that it is not the PSU or the memory Anyway I am expecting a reply from leadtek soon.
  4. That he is reaching the last led does not change anything at all. If you read the thread that is posted, you will see that every single person with this problem is able to do just that. It has nothing to do with jumpers etc. It is a communication problem between the videocard and the motherboard. If a newer bios for the motherboard or a fimware for the videocard can fix it I am happy.
  5. As said we do not know the solution yet. The newest official bios (310) does not fix the problem.
  6. lol guys you should see my setup when we are talking "pain in the butt" when removing/fiddeling around with the components. I use Aqua computer components and they do not use soft silicone hose but really stiff hose to use in their plug in cool system Also the motherboard is turned upside down in a lian li V1000 which means that bios, clear cmos, standard jumper, battery, power and reset button are hiding behind my 360mm radiator which is mounted in the top of the chasis. That is why I have to unsecure the radiator (thats 12 screws and 3x120mm papst fans just for the record) and somehow hold that while I reset the Cmos etc. It is just so much fun each time it will not boot :shake:
  7. Ja3h As told you are having the same problem as a bunch of other people are having incl. me. It has nothing with the PSU, nothing with the memory etc. It all comes down to the communication between your videocard and your motherboard. I will gurantee you that your motherboard works just fine if you use a regular PCI videocard. You can also try a 6600GT with VGA. It works fine. There seems to be a problems with the NF4 chipset/DFI NF4 and some videocards. My Leadtek 6800GT do not work in that motherboard, but a POV 6600GT works fine. If you look in this thread which have allready been posted here you will see that one guy actually has tried four 6800GT's and it still will not boot: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10822 We do not have a solution....yet.
  8. This thread hewwra: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10822
  9. I still think its a problem between nf4 chipset and the videocard. I think that our "defective" 6800 GT's cards will work just fine in a motherboard with a different chipset. Can anybody confirm this?
  10. So far I have not seen any ATi people with this problem no. But we have to be very specific, cause problems can look alike.
  11. They are busy and we are doing okay regarding all the testing anyway. Nagini you are a great help btw. It is alot more easy when people group up and share their knowledge.
  12. I have a dual DVI Leadtek 6800GT. It does not matter if I use a DVI>vga convertor or not. It will not boot.
  13. Funny...I connected the VGA on the 6600 GT which worked and there is only DVI on the leadtek 6800 GT...which did not work. I will test the DVI on the 6600GT right now with a DVI monitor.
  14. Yeah sure, but when I tested with the 6800GT I swapped just as fast between upper and lower PCI-E slot. I also unplugged the power cord, pressed the powerbutton, cleared Cmos for 30 secs, plugged power in, used the "standard boot jumper" and it booted just fine with the 6600 GT card again. I tried to torture the motherboard not to boot with the 6600 GT, but so far it boots every time. I tested my Leadtek 6800GT, dual DVI card in a Asus A8N SLi Deluxe. Did not boot. It gave me the videocard beep error. I tried with a second 6600GT POV and it booted fine. So right now it seems that my problem is the videocard, but im am not convinced at all. I still thinks that the leadtek 6800GT works just fine with another chipset than nf4, but that I sadly can not test. I do not have such motherboard at work. So now I will begin to install with the 6600GT card, and get a new leadtek 6800GT and test that one afterwards. I will get back to it, when I know something new (regarding if it is the first videocard which is dead or it is an issue with NF4 or the DFI NF4 motherboard).
  15. Ok This is what I found out: 1. Tried with the newly flashed bios chip. Same problem. If my leadtek 6800GT is mounted in the top PCI-E port the first red led will flash, then go off and nothing happens then. So no sound, no screen and 3xred led. 2. Mounted the leadtek in the lower PCI-E slot. No Screen but a long beep and three short sounds (VGA problem). All leds goes off (boot) af a short period (2 secs aprox). 3. Swapped with the 6600 GT point of view and...drum roll.....it booted. 4. Mounted the 6600 GT in the lower PCI-E and...drum roll....it booted. Until now there is absolutely no problems with the POV 6600GT at all. I have booted several times, cleared Cmos, standard jumper boot you name. It boots every single time. So now I will bring my Leadtek 6800 GT with me at work tomorrow to test the card itself. btw. I will test the videocard in a Asus A8N Sli Deluxe.
