  1. Some more troubleshooting.... I plugged the PSU into my wife's system, it boots fine. I plugged my wife's PSU into my system, it boots fine. The only time this PSU does not work, is plugged into my system. The only time my system does not work is with this PSU.
  2. OK, I am reviving this thread. I got a new Antec Trio 550 to replace the old one and it does the exact same thing. And still, the NeoPower 480 works just fine. I have to be missing something obvious here. Any ideas?
  3. I have done all of those steps above (except #5), it does not change that the Power LED blinks. It is about twice per second. I will try and throw it in one of these other PCs i got laying around tonight or tomorrow.
  4. The ghosts are back. It ran for three days, then I powered down the machine to work on something else. The system would not boot back up. I put the old PSU in it, and that works fine. I would like to know more what the flashing Power LED specifically means though, as that might help me secure an RMA with Antec. Not working PSU (Antec Trio 550): RAM Power LED does not come on Power LED blinks. System does not power on. When I hotwire the PSU, it powers on, indicating some level of functionality. Working PSU (Antec NeoPower 480): RAM Power LED turns on slowly after a minute or so after plugging into the wall. Power LED is solid. Powers on fine. Can anyone definitively tell me what the flashing power LED on the bottom of the board means?
  5. well, dinking around with the PSU, i finally got it to work. Dont know how or why, but it works.
  6. Argh, I do the link thing so I dont have to continually update sigs across several forums. But I will do it. Anyways, yes the system works perfect with the Neopower 480.
  7. I am testing the new Antec Trio 550W in my system (specs in link below), and I am having a strange issue. The system will not boot at all, and the power LED, which is typically solid on, is flashing. None of the diagnostic LEDs turn on either. If I short the poweron lead on the PSU while it is plugged in, the LED goes solid and I can boot. The pins on the motherboard are fine, and the connector is completely plugged in. I put the old PSU in (Neopower 480) and it boots fine. I tested the PSU with a tester, it is fine there as well. What does the flashing power LED mean?
  8. Thanks guys...and anyone in the boise area...come on by for some good fraggin fun...
  9. Ya, I have e-mailed about 20 companies so far, and so far not a single reply. Companies seem to be clamping down on their LAN sponsorships this year....last year it seemed much easier. I am going to have to bug one of my buddies at ClubOC to see if I cant get a mail list from him...
  10. I have been happily running a DFI nf4 Ultra-D for over a year. Both of my brothers just bought Infinity boards, and another buddy of mine has an Ultra-D (modded to an SLI-D) as well. A few of us are pretty heavy into overclocking so DFI is a must At BFF last year, I smoked everyone in the benchmark competition on my DFI based system....
  11. I completely understand. BFF are very good friends of ours, and are providing backbone for the event. One of the *WKS* members is one of the co-owners of BFF. If there is anything you would like to do for us, or anything we can do for you, let us know.
  12. Need to know who I can bug for sponsorships for a LAN we are hosting. This one is pretty important to us, we want to make sure it goes well. Here are the details: I am proud to announce a premiere LAN from one of Idaho's premiere gaming clans! Help us to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of this clan, in the only way we know how, by throwing a huge LAN party of course! On October 14th, the World Killing Spree will host an event at the Nampa Civic Center, host to many a LAN in the past. This event will be host to at least 50 gamers for a measly $5, which should be no problem to fill, as WKS is no stranger to these events. Not only does the WKS have high visibility at Boise Frag Fest events, due to a very impressive tournament record, excellent sportsmanship, and clan unity, the WKS has previously hosted a very successful 50 man LAN in July 2005, in which over $1000 in prizes was awarded. We are particularly excited about this event as we will be having a BF2 team tournament, as well as a Medal of Honor *WKS* throwback challenge. Combined with the local LAN authority, the Boise Frag Fest, the WKS has the ability to reach 550 gamers in the region through our newsletters alone. The infrastructure of the event is provided by the Boise Frag Fest, using dedicated servers for all games and a fully switched Gigabit backbone for the network. With the added incentive of prizes, we hope to bring more excitement to the local gaming community, and to draw in new gamers. In return, all sponsors will get dedicated mic time to educate the gamers about their products. We want the sponsors to get as involved with the gamers as possible. We plan to give away the majority of the prizes through random drawing, as well as some by tournaments and contests.
