  1. The os, is not on that drive. The raid controller is built in to the mobo, and yes it does see he hdd. while booting the build raid utility comes up, displays the drive, etc... says functional.
  2. It might not be TRUE RAID, but the HDD is connected to an onboard raid controller, its deteced by Raid Utility on boot up. And it worked fine before i reinstalled windows.
  3. I still have plenty available. Good price. I dont think you can find cheaper online. (without paying like $7 shipping) And now i have T's avaliable. Picture coming soon.
  4. I reinstalled win xp, and now my one 120gig raid HDD does not show up(my whole raid setup consists of just 1 drive). I installed the latest drivers, still nothing. mobo-a7v8x What do i do? If i unistall drivers for it and reboot. Windows says "found new Hardware, Raid controller" but when i install drivers again and reboot the drive is not there. I can see "Win XP Prmoise Fast Track 376 Controller" in the dedevice manager. when it the PC boots, the Raid Utility displays "1* 1-0 stripe 120gb operatinal" so it sees the drive. if i go to Device manger, click on disk drives i can see "Promise 1+0 Stripe/RAID0 SCSI Disk Device." so how come it does not show up in windows explorer?
  5. i absolutely HATE pc noise. My computer has 6-regular 80mm fans, and a 60mm high CFM fan on the cpu heatsink. That sucker makes such an annoying noise, that if i leave it on at night, i wake up with a headache. I used to have watercooling, going through some changes to the setup right now. I really miss it, it was nice and quiet.
  6. I have a number of different fittings for sale. I have a lot of each kind. Here are the pictures: These \/ \/ \/ are $0.75 each or 5 for $3. sorry the pictures are not too clear, but from left to right 1/4-to-1/4, 1/4-to-1/2, 1/2-to-1/2 L, 1/2-to-1/2 straight. This kind \/ \/ \/ is $1.50 each. 1/2-to-1/2-to-1/2 Y Plush shipping. Shipping will be about $2 for 5 of them, once you pick what you want, i'll let you know exactly how much shipping is. P.S. Shipping within U.S. I have to find out how much shipping is to Canada.
  7. This is an EXCELENT case for an ECELENT price. I bought one from X-oxide about 1/2yr ago for $130+shipping. Case is very nice looking, solid built. btw, its aluminum. Has 3 windows already buit in, can fit up to 7 HDDs, a removable drive cage. If i did not already have this case, i would definately jump on the offer
  8. Good thing my parents dont know the meaning of the word "grounded" My grades in HS were pretty good, wit occasional C. My dad would just give me a dissaproving look and tell me to do better.
  9. i should do a presentation on how its unethical for Drexel university to ripp off their students, and make paying for education a burden for the rest of my life (exagurating, but it will take a while to pay it off)
  10. Unfortunately i did not choose the topic, it was assigned to me. As i said before i really dotn know how this has anything to do with ethics, but i still have to do the debate.
  11. Thanks for all your replies. I actually have to do a debate on that (use of calculators) topic on friday . The debate is for a useless class called ethics. And i honestly dont see how this is an ethical question. It more of a level and quality of education question. The only reasons for and agains the ban of calculators i could come up with are Ban because: 1) Students who can afford ti89 and other graphing calculators, have an unfair adavantage over those students who dont have enough money and can only get a 4 function calculator. 2) It does not benefit the students to memorize how to punch 5 buttons on the calculator and get an answer, without learning how to do it by hand 1st. dont ban because: 1) in real life people always rely on calculators, and you'll always have one handy. Its a tool that is used in most professions and learning how to use it is just as important as learning math "the old fashioned way." Any other ideas will be appreciated.
  12. but, lets say for a high school calculus class (calc AB and BC), all you have to learn i just a couple of function on ti-89 and you can do almost everything, withouth ever opening the calc book.
  13. Do you think its ethical to ban calculators from standardized testing? why and why not?
  14. This web-page came up in another PC/ OC forum, and there are a lot of shady stats about that PC. I did not read all the details, but some things just dont make sence, suspicion is that that is bogus.
