I have an older machine with the Expert board. When i first got it it would not post with the RAM in dual channel mode. I tried everything to get it to work. Finally, a friend and i figured it out. The book provided with the board and the notations labeling the RAM slots were wrong. We switched the memory to slots 3 and 4 and the machine booted perfectly.
The corruption issue i also had with the Expert board. We eventually figured out that some Maxtor HDDs and the NF4 chipset were having a conflict. I switched to Seagate and never had another issue.
Hope this helps.
