  1. Yeah, I bought the Sapphire 2GB 6950. Thanks for the link, definitely going to be trying this
  2. Thanks! I think I'm going to go with the the 6950, I can always buy a second one later on and run crossfire if I need too
  3. Well my GTX 280 kicked the bucket today, and EVGA has told me it's out of warranty so I'm looking to buy a new card. I was looking at both the 6950 and the 6970, do you guys think it's worth the extra $70 to get the 6970 over the 6950?
  4. Hello everyone, I bought my GTX 280 when it first came out a few years back and I'm looking to upgrade soon. I know AMD is releasing the 6970 pretty soon so I'm debating whether to buy that or the GTX 580, suggestions?
  5. hey everyone, im looking to upgrade from my intel C2D E6420 stock 2.13ghz (oc'ed to 2.9). I was going to purchase either the C2D E8500 3.16 GHZ or E8600 3.33 GHZ and then i saw intel is releasing its new i7. I was wondering if the i7 is actually worth getting a whole new mobo and then spending at least $300 on it or if i should just stick with the duo. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. I have a 21.6 inch Hanns g monitor. the native resolution is 1680 x 1050. If i set it to any other resolution than the native i get lines through my screen, even if i watch HDTV on it in 1080i which is 1680 x 1050 i get lines, is this supposed to happen or is it broken?, i have 3 years parts and labor on it but i wasnt sure if this was supposed to happen or not.
  7. wow those clocks are amazingly high, your using the stock cooler right?, I'll see how far i can OC mine. Edit: I tried oc'ing it to 700/1640/1000 but it becomes unstable and freezes
  8. thanks guys, i oc'ed it to 630/950, the max temp is 59 and idle its at 50, would it not be safe to overclock it a bit more? i only have the stock heat sink but i thought those temps were relatively low
  9. I wasn't sure whether to put this in the OC'ing or Video Card section so please dont get angry, I was wondering what the best program is to overclock my 8800 GTS 640mb is. I've tried using Ntune and its garbage, it becomes unstable if i even move it up 10 mhz, im not exactly a noob to GPU overclocking, i did a lot of OC'ing to my ATI x800 and my x600 before that. The stock core bus is 576 mhz and mem bus is 900 mhz. Am i just crazy or do other people have problems with Ntune?
  10. I didn't overclock it myself, it got from my BIOS settings when i overclocked my cpu
  11. I have 2GB of GSKILL DDR2 800 memory, similar to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231088, I've overclocked it a little bit. I noticed its only 420 mhz, I'm kind of a noob to RAM but i thought that was a little low compared to others. So my question is my memory out of date and i need to upgrade or is it fine? I do quite a bit of gaming so if i do have to upgrade what would be the best to get, i was aiming for about 4GB if i do upgrade.
  12. i think it was this one, a thread on this site had it. http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp, if these sites are inaccurate, how do you properly figure out how many watts your computer is using?
  13. i pull around 610 watts, at least thats what the psu calculator said
  14. paulktreg, i have the Quartz version, not because its fancy looking or anything, i just found a really good deal on it. I've never had a problem with it, I've played 9 hours of Mass Effect on ultra high and not a hiccup. It runs all my hardware beautifully. I probably couldnt of asked for a better PSU
  15. thanks a ton, a bought my new thermal compound along with two new case fans (120mm and 80mm) and installed it with no problem, its already running 10 degrees Celsius cooler even without the cure time
