  1. low end huh? Just because it's not an overpriced x9999 doesn't mean it's low end =) As far as I'm concerned "low end" went out the window with the introduction of multi-core processors except in some cases.
  2. That my friend, is the question, isn't it?
  3. Some people are just insane. My 3dmark06 score is crap.
  4. If you were a UT fan and are going to play UT3, then you're not gonna be a fan for much longer. They dumbed it down, removed all the good modes, and took away everyone decent. You'll see.
  5. just be glad you didnt go quad sli with 2 9800x2
  6. just get a ati4850 or a 9800gtx+ easier, newer, cheap.
  7. Sorry, My monitor is a ViewSonic VX2240w, which is 22 inches. I run games at 1680 x 1050. Thank you for the complement about my rig, It was a ###### to build. The only problem I've faced is my Northbridge as I've gotten my cpu to 2.7 but it locks up without proper voltage to the NB. The issue is the NB idles at 65-70 in the BIOS when I put it to 1.4 volts. Anyway, I think I'll switch out the CPU within 6 months, So I should be good for now. Maybe Ill get a Core 2 Extreme or something, because I know sure as hell Nehalem won't run on any motherboard we got now. Also, another problem I have is the Motherboard, it's apparently got some pretty big FSB Holes, so I've also got that to look forward to. I might OC it, I might not, I'm running decent now though.
  8. Quick update, grabbed another OCX, put em in SLI and now i'm ready to start rolling blackouts in my town because of my computers power requirements. Anyway, SLI isn't anything really special, doesn't give too much in some games. Though my rig should be sorta future proof, and I hope i'll be able to run Far cry 2 which is all that matters. Ever.
  9. Yeah, I'm gonna try to throw a fan onto the NB, apparently its possible if you screw it into the heatsink as it is sort of a grill design. Thank you for your help, now I know it was the NB all along.
  10. Thats the problem, my NB. If i increase it to 1.46 or 1.5 it starts working better, but it goes to 70 c in the bios, which is not a good sign
  11. Well hard, that's why I'm here, to find those voltages that I need to adjust. If you give me the basic ones, and a safe range I should do well. I'll try running linked again. Here goes to a small, but stable oc!
  12. Just fsb really. I've only played around with vcore. I read that you don't need a higher voltage until you either don't post or lock up(my problem) and I've tried going as high as safety permits. Oh, I've also got my memory at 1066 / 2.1v but that's it. I'll give voltages in a bit.
  13. Wow, sort of a big difference between the last two posters. What's the difference between your rigs? Air? Thermal paste?
  14. You guys bring up a good point, since most (if not all 9800 GTX OC's) are done with stock fans, I think I'll make myself another GTX OCX >=) I just gotta be careful. Thank you all for the helpful comments and that link, Aw well, here goes more money on my rig. I'm gonna hate seeing my electricity bill after this new card goes in.
  15. Yeah, I just don't know how low I can go and still function, I've went to 1600 fsb + 1.36 vcore and the locking up still happens. So it shouldn't be higher at my level of OC. So lower you say? My VID is 0.85V – 1.3625V Here's my source: http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLAWE Guess I'll try to find a functionable low vcore at my current fsb and then try throwing it up to 1600
