  1. PM sent on PSU and case. Forgot to note in PM that I do have some SLI XFX 8800GT's 640 version with S1's on them if you are interested. Thought I would toss that out there.
  2. I have sli XFX 8800GT's 640 edition. It has the Accelero S1 on it. Asking $145. LMK
  3. I would recommend the Noctua series. Awesome fan. Move a lot of air. Super quiet. If you don't mind the color you will love them. I have 2 case fans. I on my Tuniq 120 and then 80mm on my IFX northbrigde cooler. My two cents.
  4. I have the tuniq 120 and I replaced the IMO the loud stock fan with a noctua 120mm. Much much quieter, but I lost the fan controller capability with the swap, but I was 'cool' with that :thumbs-up:
  5. There are several vendors when you do a Google search. I cannot recall who I go mine from, but there a handful out there. Happy shopping. You will not be disappointed.
  6. I have the same card and I have the S1 and added a noctua 120mm fan on it and it is great. Temps idle are low 40's and playing Crysis for awhile, and it only gets to the mid 50's. Passive is nice, but this fan is pretty quiet and will only add in keeping this hot card in check. Enjoy.
  7. I have the XFX 8800gt and I am using the S1 Accelero with a 120mm Noctua fan on it. S1 was $20 and fan was $25. Thing idles at 40 and maxes after playing Crysis for a couple of hours into the mid 50's. Very quiet. Takes up another slot, but I am fine with that. That would be my recommendation. Good luck, lots of options out there.
  8. I would recommend Noctua. Very good fans, very quiet. If you don't mind the color scheme you will be very happy I think. You are paying for a good quality fan. MHO
  9. I have the same card and I removed the stock fan and put on the Artic Accelero S1 and threw on a Noctua 120mm fan and it works great. You do lose a slot, but I am not running SLI right now and they say you still can do SLI with this setup. I idle around 40 and load in the 50's.
  10. I read a lot about the heat thing on the 8800GT. With some aftermarket cooling if you are willing and able will take care of that. I put the Accelero S1 with one 120 mm Noctua fan on mine and the thing is cool and quiet. Usually idles ~40-42. Load hits in the 50's. I have the Tsunami case with only a couple of system fans and over mine is pretty cool. In another post I noted that I upgraded my Tuniq 120 fan with another Noctua 120mm and then an 80mm on the NB with a Thermalright SLI/IFX and an Enzotech HS on the SB and my CPU idles at 30-32 and system 32-24 usually. Loads again for CPU may hit 50's. I would go the 8800GT. Good OC'ing potential. I am not familar with the others to comment on their OC'ing abilities.
  11. I have the XFX 8800GT and I used the S1 with a Noctua 120mm fan and the thing is silent. My idle temp is 41 and load after playing Crysis it hit 50's. I put two more Noctua fans in, one 120mm in my Tuniq 120 along with swapping the NB fan on mt XFX 680i Sli LT with the Thermalright SLI/IFX and putting a 80mm there. One the SB I put the Enzotech copper passive heatsink. CPU idle temp is 30-32, system is 32-33. Next step is to swap my system fans with some Noctua's. My Vantec Stealth fans in the case are the ones I hear now. It is pretty darn quiet, but I think with a whole unit with Noctua will be pretty quiet. So will end up with nice and quiet and nice and cool B:) E4500 2.2 at 3.01 OC 1.37v Mobo - XFX 680i Sli LT OCZ Sli Ready 6400 DDR2 - 4-4-4-15-1T Tuniq 120 HSF Thermaltake Tsunami Case CoolerMaster 650W XFX 8800GT 640/980 - OC 680/1000 3DDMark06 - 12186
  12. I guess it is all relative on a good overclock on thie e4500. I have since left it a 3.01 with memory 4-4-4-12 1T. With OC 8800GT 680/1000. 3dMark06 was 12046. I am thinking that this is pretty good score? Maybe not?
  13. I would recommend the S1 Accelero by Artic. I removed my stock fan and if you go passive it is pretty good, but if you through a nice Noctua 120 on there it is nice and cool. If you plan on overclocking or playing a lot of games that noise will 'grind' on ya
  14. Newbie - Can you guys take a look at what I am doing right now and offer any sound words of wisdom or questions on my first OC?? My 3Dmark06 score was 11869. Please go easy on me.
